it's ridiculous that US provides Taiwan with massive military assets yet a simple phone call is considered an incident

Me neither. And I left the US for a "socialist utopia" long ago (and quite enjoy it). Your second paragraph is still nonsense.

You're both using that word like it means something to me. It doesn't. I'm thousands of miles away from all of you, mercifully. I don't have a dog in the fight, so there's nothing to outsmart. He's a self-serving narcissist who uses lies and confusion to seduce his supporters and bamboozle his enemies, and I know the type very well from direct personal experience. I doubt very much you would disagree that's how he operates - you just don't care because you think it's all fair play in order to make you all Great again (i.e. take you all back to the 1950s). In fact not only do you not care, you think it's clever. And to a point you're right - it is, so far. I personally don't think it's a sustainable tactic and I reckon he'll come unstuck bigly at some point. The only question is how much it affects the rest of the country - and perhaps other countries - when it happens.
The fact that you felt compelled to post an essay as a rebuttal to what was obviously a jab not only amuses me but fully explains "how you are". Thanks! Oh, and it's "big league" for your future reference (a yank baseball term).

US police have arrested a man wielding an assault rifle who entered a pizza restaurant that was the target of fake news reports it was operating a child abuse ring led by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her top campaign aide.

article said:
They said the suspect during an interview with investigators revealed that he came to the establishment to “self-investigate” Pizzagate, the police statement said. Pizzagate is a baseless conspiracy, which falsely claims Clinton and her campaign chief John Podesta were running a child sex ring from the restaurant’s backrooms.

What do you expect when the next POTUS is busy tweeting obvious falsehoods to the world

In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally

His supporters will believe pretty much anything.
Good Luck America, and yes I'm very disappointed in you

"Pizzagate is a baseless conspiracy, which falsely claims Clinton and her campaign chief John Podesta were running a child sex ring from the restaurant’s backrooms."

That isn't the claim. Fake news from the Guardian?

Lazy journalism more like, lifting from the NYT etc. Snopes appears to have the correct* info on the origins and content of the original story. There are some truly desperate people out there.

  • not that I'd know what is or isn't correct, but it at least references the source Reddit posts.

Lazy I doubt. The responses seem fairly coordinated across the MM outlets.

It is all a bit surreal to see Comet in all of this. Was an old haunt of mine, and a band I was in used to play rock shows there.

No opinion on the PG stuff at present, but some of the information being dredged up is quite worthy of attention.

Whackadoodle tinfoilery invented by someone on 4chan, it's quite hard to run a paedo dungeon in a basement that doesn't exist.

I particularly enjoyed the assertion that there's a tunnel linking this supposed basement to the orphanage across the street. That's some serious crack these jokers are smoking.

From the Washington Post. smile

Trump’s election stole my desire to look for a partner

article said:
I’ve lost the desire to attempt the courtship phase. The future is uncertain. I am not the optimistic person I was on the morning of Nov. 8, wearing a T-shirt with “Nasty Woman” written inside a red heart. It makes me want to cry thinking of that. Of seeing my oldest in the shirt I bought her in Washington, D.C., that says “Future President.”

There is no room for dating in this place of grief. Dating means hope. I’ve lost that hope in seeing the words “President-elect Trump.”
laugh @ some of the comments:

"You wonder why you're single? Jesus, either grow up or seek therapy. Donald Trump getting elected seems to the least of your issues."

"This pathetic whiner should consider the possibility that no one wants a relationship with her because she's a nutcase! "

"Seriously, Ms Lane don't worry about 'dating' - any sane reasonable man who has read this article has put you on the 'loon' list and will stay far away from you. You are not qualified to have an adult relationship, I am not even sure that you would be capable of an immature junior high school level of relationship.

Your ability to raise children is seriously in question - good grief, what spoiled, self-centered narcissistic little monsters you are bringing up by going on with such hysterics. What a complete waste - please go away - your emotional insecurity, in ability to conduct yourself as a reasoning adult is alarming. "

I don't think anyone cares if you're disappointed. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness TRUMPS your feelings.
