Ask Countdown for the source of the quote. You won't get one, because as usual, the "foreign policy expert" source is unnamed.
....Which is why I said "reputed". However it was widely reported and I don't recall Trump ever denying it.

He's also admitted he'd be willing to use nuclear weapons in Europe. The man's a loon of the first order.
You seem to be elevating the Strawman to a new level.

If you use the word "reputed", you can write any bks that you like.

Well done!

In what context?
In general terms I don't know what the issue is here. Use of nuclear weapons inside Europe supported by NATO forces is something that was planned and trained for for years. For example German Tornados deploying them.

Dont do it again.
Im sure you would have been the first to jump on the words "reputable source" as non factual if it had been the other way round.

Moscow is in Europe, UK policy is to use nuclear weapons in Europe if required.

Nothing loony about that, its kept the peace since WW2.

Why quote "reputed" sources?

You have been on here long enough to know that such nonsense will be torn apart almost immediately?

It's almost as if you want to get a kicking.

Do you actually understand what the word "reputed" means?

It means he was "regarded to have done something". As was reported by MSNBC on their "Morning Joe" programme. So fk alone knows why you think I made it up. And "torn apart" my lower left butt cheek. he was reported to have said it. He hasn't denied saying it. that may well be because he knows it's true (although that hasn't stopped him lying in the past).

Now I don't know about you but I'm reasonably concerned that somebody with Trump's intellect and temperament will soon be in charge of the US's nuclear deterrent. One would hope that there are enough sane heads around him that will keep him in check. But frankly I worry that Putin and the Chinese will play him like a banjo.

Telegraph said:
"Several months ago a foreign policy expert, on an international level, went to advise Donald Trump, and three times he (Mr Trump) asked about the use of nuclear weapons.

"Three times he asked. At one point 'If we have them, why can't we use them?' He asked three times in an hour briefing 'Why can't we use nuclear weapons?'."

TIME said:
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough claimed that the expert, who he did not name, advised the real estate mogul earlier this year during an hour-long briefing in which Trump had allegedly asked about using nuclear weapons three times, Scarborough said on Morning Joe.

Trump’s campaign spokeswoman Hope Hicks said in a statement to TIME that there was “no truth” to the report.

Trump has spoken publicly about his thoughts on nuclear weapons in other interviews, saying they should be the “absolute last step” and calling proliferation a serious problem, while also noting he would “never, ever” rule out using them and suggesting that some other countries might need to a develop nuclear arsenal.

Just thought I'd bump this as the Trump thread is complaining that there's not much of a counter view.
Its because quite a few of us are banned from it in a strange mod frenzy a few months back.

I very much doubt people were banned for posting pro-Trump views.
