I'm sure the RAF, CCF and VR are all very rewarding careers.
I had thought only one was a career (RAF).

The others (CCF) are for cadets and (VR) for paid volunteers using their spare time.

This isn't about tedious inter-service slagging off contests surely?

You can either take it as banter or a genuine thought. Please don't interpret it as slagging off and get upset - we have lots to be happy about in the coming week.

Upset hehe what a totally non-loaded assumption!

I had not long ago agreed with your agreement smile in another thread that "insults are the arguments employed by those who are in the wrong" (Jean-Jacques Rousseau). How refreshing to realise there was no insult all along not even implicit, just banter, cool.

Sorry, I wasn't assuming you were upset, just assuring you I wasn't intending you to be.

It is very rare I have insulted anyone on here - I'm a very patient man. smile

Thousands of anti-Brexit activists join London march

Ooooh we're going to see marching
I doubt that anyone who has ever done the military variety would recognise it.
Including cadets - see below.

They were lightweights by the look of it, not only in terms of who was there (e.g. Clegg) but kit as well.

Combat Equipment Marching Order(CEMO):

• Waterproof bag
• Bivi bag
• Sleeping bag & roll mat
• Complete change of clothing(military)
• Minimum 3 pair of socks
• Foot powder
• Towel (complete)
• Wash Kit
• Trainers
• Spare gloves
• Full gortex
• Warm jacket
• Poncho,poles,pegs,bungy or string
• Cooker or spare hexi
• Pot or mess tin
• Spare water 1litre
• Noodles,spices or curry powder
• Spoon (plastic)
• Rations for duration
• Gash bag
• Flask(optional)
• Any special stores issued
Gash bag?

Does this collect bodily fluids?

I'd have added Tena pads for both men & women, both get hysterical at events like those held today, sqwueaming at both ends can and does happen!

It is for anything you want. Condoms and Vaseline are far more useful then sanitary towels.

CCF isn't a career, it was marginally better than the alternatives for a Wednesday afternoon when I was a teenager, and I got to learn to fly a glider (if not on my own).
ATC for me, a great way for an inner city kid to see more of the world. I managed to do the flying a glider on my own, aged 16.

This idea could well get a majority of MPs to back it. Lets have that cake and eat it - if we can't eat it, immigration control will be fudged. Still, shouldn't be too hard to pull the wool.

The conservatives don't need Labour support. Unlike Labour they have a leader in control and a whip that works.

We'd better declare next Wednesday a day of mourning for ///ajd and his Scrappy-Doo partner, JawKnee. Please respect the grief they are suffering at this time.

Bit late for that considering that they have pretty much given the government cart blanche to do as they wish. Although the Tory majority makes that a most point anyway.

Non story.

"Labour will refuse to vote in the House of Commons for any Brexit deal struck between Theresa May and the 27 remaining EU states unless the deal ensures precisely the same economic and trade benefits as Britain currently gains from full membership."

Well precisely the same deal is 100% certain not to happen...so Labour won't vote for it....then what?

There is a sizable risk that easily enough tory MPs could back such a demand. Soubry et al.

After all, we were offered fantastic trade deals post brexit, surely no worse than we have now? They weren't lies were they? Funny how the vote leave pages on trade have been deleted. You can still find the bit where they promise something just like norway.
