Being insular comes more naturally to a nation of this size. We have many cultures and climates from state to state. Travelling from state to state is akin to Europeans going from country to country. Your comparison is a bit apples & oranges. I agree with portions of your view; however, I am not so sure we need "fixing" as much as you claim.
Jimbeaux, spot on. He has seen the B-movies, he knows the USA very well smile

'Donald Trump Campaign Offered Actors $50 to Cheer for Him at Presidential Announcement

A casting call was sent out last week "looking to cast people for the event to wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement."
Donald Trump's big presidential announcement Tuesday was made a little bigger with help from paid actors — at $50 a pop.

New York-based Extra Mile Casting sent an email last Friday to its client list of background actors, seeking extras to beef up attendance at Trump's event.

"We are looking to cast people for the event to wear t-shirts and carry signs and help cheer him in support of his announcement," reads the June 12 email, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "We understand this is not a traditional 'background job,' but we believe acting comes in all forms and this is inclusive of that school of thought." (Read the full email at the bottom of the post.)'
Hey genius, that article is dated a year and a half ago for the initial announcement he was running. Find me a similar casting call for his countless campaign stops that were full to the rafters. Hint; you cannot.

Cost overruns were tolerated as part of doing business in the lobbyist culture of Washington. Much of it is graft; she knows that and will be able to cut costs. This was an example being made so that other defense vendors will be getting their house in order on their own.

In the USA as with the BBC and a lot of other media, it has been the switch to "Reporters" passing off their personal politics and beliefs as "honest independent assessment" that has led to the present mistrust of the media.

Mainstream media has really shot itself in the foot. Trump just tells them to ps off, May just tells them bugger all, the world has moved on and they have no clue what to do about it.
Probably the most astute comment made on this thread so far.

BBC, itv, sky news should be taking notes as the same is going to happen if they continue the globalist agenda.

the bookies today had trump at evens to either be impeached or resign before his first term is over

i wonder what odds you would get for him to go full term?

The BBC are cutting cost on Radio 2 by getting rid of Alex Lester and Janice Long on the overnight shifts and playing repeats instead whilst Chris Evans cops £600 grand off the BBC.
The BBC is rotten to the core in it's current form which is a shame as it was the best broadcasting service in the world once.

Over their entire estate, yes. On individual bets they're frequently wrong.

Let's understand a couple of things. The popular vote has never been used alone to elect a POTUS in over two centuries. We are a collection of states, not a pool of one. Therefore, each state requires individual representation. To that end, the 30 / 50 states Trump won, he won the popular vote of those jurisdictions. The popular vote excess of HRC can be found in the two cities of Los Angeles & New York alone. Allowing two coastal cities to decide each election is not equally representative of 50 jurisdictions, thus the founding fathers' wisdom of the electoral college.
So, any further blabbering of "popular vote", on a nationwide scale is about as relevant as how short your man tackle is in reference to the maximum effective range of an excuse.
.
Doesn't it speak volumes that this has to be explained again and again and again and again?
Yes it does. At worse it is indicative of ignorance; at best, it shows a misunderstanding due to a varied perception based upon location/different structure of government.
Thing is it's often the same here with the first past the post system, you can get millions of votes but hardly any seats, so it's something that they're familiar with.

Take Scotland in the last GE the SNP got 50% of the votes but 95% of the seats that leaves the other 50% of the people that voted with 3 seats.

You'd think they'd equate the two and understand, but I guess some posters on here have tunnel vision or are just a bit "special" like that countdown character.
