i wonder what odds you would get for him to go full term?
The same bookies that bet he'd lose.

Thing is it's often the same here with the first past the post system, you can get millions of votes but hardly any seats, so it's something that they're familiar with.

Take Scotland in the last GE the SNP got 50% of the votes but 95% of the seats that leaves the other 50% of the people that voted with 3 seats.

You'd think they'd equate the two and understand, but I guess some posters on here have tunnel vision or are just a bit "special" like that countdown character.

Let's not shortchange Countdown; he is not merely special, he is extra special.

In a number of ways it is not; however, in a number of ways it is. I invite you to elaborate on your take. smile

It really isn't. When you drive across the USA you will only need to speak one language (perhaps two), use one currency and drive on one side of the road, and you will not have your passport checked.

I do love Donald. He's sort of like one of those fireworks you buy from China that are almost banned but there is a nervous tension as the blue touch paper is lit.

Today his tweet was

"released by "intelligence" even knowing there is no proof, and never will be. My people will have a full report on hacking within 90 days"

No they won't. He doesn't even have any people at the moment who can tell the full story. Unless they are Russian. Perhaps they are. That might be a shot in the foot though. wink

He comes out with this and still doesn't release his tax returns as per normal convention.

I want to know what happens when he is President, his twitter goes away, they will not let him use his own or the POTUS one. So he will have to speak. Or ramble, as he does.

Interesting times.

Poor old Boris Johnson is now seen as a right old boring old bastid, poor sod. Last thing he got into trouble for was saying the middle east was a bit loopy. Which they are.

Perhaps he should have said the Middle east has muddled thinking, like our EU ambassador did for us.... he got more column inches than Boris on that.

Ironically given that I was moaning about the Left in the last paragraph, I wanted Bernie to succeed; not because I know/knew much about his policies and agreed with them (rubbish reason then, I know) but he genuinely seemed to want to help people. He came across like he cared about doing the job and not the power that comes with it, if you see what I mean.
Serving the people rather than serving yourself.

In a nutshell that is what "draining the swamp" actually means.

But now the new president elect seems to be the most self serving president of all time so far. Doing it for the kudos. I'll make you rich and I will be then seen as great.

It's a shame Bernie v Trump was not the final deal rather than Clinton v Trump. Both parties ignored, or tried to ignore Bernie and Donald. One succeeded, then lost.

I'm not sure they drive on the right in Malta, Euros don't work in Copenhagen, and I do recall quite a few times when I haven't been able to make myself understood in English - in France, Germany, Italy, and Austria off the top of my head.

If this passes it will be amazing. End all U.S. involvement, conventions, funding and agreements with the U.N.
That screws up Israel though. They complained when you didn't even vote for a UN resolution, never mind not being there at all to vote. Or does Israel not matter to you?

Sorry for the slight spamming, I tend to do my PH Donald posts in spurts, just like his goodself on twitter.

My main thought is when he gets to be POTUS and loses the ability to do twitter he will be on his own and will no longer be able to blame the media for his actions, and he will then have actions that will be wrote in political law.

He will not be able to so easily gloss over mistakes then.

Roll on 20th Jan.

Being insular comes more naturally to a nation of this size. We have many cultures and climates from state to state. Travelling from state to state is akin to Europeans going from country to country. Your comparison is a bit apples & oranges. I agree with portions of your view; however, I am not so sure we need "fixing" as much as you claim.
Jimbeaux, spot on. He has seen the B-movies, he knows the USA very well smile

You obviously know the full story as you was there with the smoking man. You're not supposed to be on the internet in Cobra meetings.
