Less than half of the population in America and just under half of the population here didn't vote for such a change at all.
It's only ever those that vote who make a difference.

Always was, always will be. The rest have no basis for complaint.
Who mentioned non-voters? He's talking about the proportions of those who voted.

Stuck in your one-track groove again. Yawn.

think the only safe opinion is, 'Who knows?' If the US election and Brexit have reminded us of anything, it's not to make assumptions.

I like the idea of someone mixing things up and being a bit more radical. As Obama highlighted, campaigning and governing are quite different and Trump is on the cusp of transitioning from promises to delivery. I also have a nagging feeling he has more dirt that may surface.

I hope he and Brexit both deliver. If they don't, future generations could be afraid to take a risk and send a message to the status quo as has been sent both sides of the pond.
Ah Mr La Liga hopefully your still combatting the moronic element on the shooting thread with your endless patient replies ?

May I say your post above is actually a very sensible and optimistic one

Will Michelle Obama be persuaded to stand in four years time?
Is it her turn?
Apparently she likes gardening, pretty dresses and her children. What else does a presidential candidate need?

The shooting thread has died down. I think the secret agents have been recalled.

I'm sure it'll pop-up in the future once the IPCC release their report.

I do try to be an optimist.

Over 35, born in the US and no criminal convictions, I think. That is all. Of course what else can one require....... that giver everyone a chance in the US to stand.

Watched the final Obama Press Conference last night....I forgot how boring he is.

The lowest popularity rating of an out-going Democrat President since Jimmy Carter in 1980.

Mind you there's only been one in between !!!

To be fair to the guy, he does get asked about 6 questions at a time. The Journalists know they have one chance and boy do they try and max it.

Oh I don't know if the wording is correct. I like the idea behind it that anyone really could have a shot at the top job. However the reality is that you need some backing.

Just using through the second article now, interesting stuff. Seems my recollection was slightly out.

Carter was, however, a good president. Unlike our current warmongering globalist shill. Had more people paid attention to Obama's actions rather than his words, I suspect his popularity would potentially be the lowest in history.

I liked Jimmy Carter. He was the first President I knew about as a kid, watching a black and white TV in the suburbs of Edinburgh.

I still find it remarkable that someone of Trump's character and petulance will have access to the nuclear launch codes.
