So what do you think will change?

No one in power will relinquish that power, their job / scope / authority will evolve to suit the 'new' version of democracy and so the merry-go-round continues, you are either naive or stupid to actually believe anything will change.

I am all for democracy ... But sometimes you do wonder if everyone is fit to vote.
Well if those in power aren't going to relinquish that power etcetera what does it matter if everyone is fit to vote or not?

The policy wont change. The people dictating the policy & backroom staff won't change much. Trump is just the face. How many promises do all the presidents make & how many actually come true.

So any bets on when WW3 will start?

This is not a surprise to me. I participate in a couple of US car forums and Trump was always discussed in a balanced way - it seemed much the way of Brexit with our very left/left biased media painting a picture of outrage, but in reality things were very different. FWIW I don't think either candidate was the right one.

You realise how many conflicts the US has been and still is involved in during Clintons 'public service' and that she wanted to enforce a no-fly zone in Syria right?

WTF? Don't you realise that Trump and Brexit votes are people saying hey are fed up with the existing, skewed, corrupt, elitist controlled version of Democracy? You want to take any vestige of democracy away because you don't like the answers???

'People' are finding some sort of voice. The establishment don't like it 'up em'.
this ^^^ TBH I think that some of the problem was that HRC is totally repugnant - IMO not as bad as DT, but not a world away. I am sad that either one of them had to win it... HRC struck me as being 'vote for more of the same (even if you don't like whats' happened up til now)' DT worries me massively so I do hope that he'll take advice and be rational.
So much this !

Everyone I spoke to about Brexit voted to leave because they wanted to shake the system up and were fed up with the lack of control the British people had over anything, most people had no idea who their Euro MP even is, where to find them or if they could be seen about any matters.

The Ruling class has had it easy too long, legally guaranteed free money from the public to do what they like with less and less control, of course they were going to get silly with it.

The Lefts idea that Brexit is Racist is a reaction because they cannot believe the public don't want to carry on with total st like "night Czars" and other wastes of money.

The left are subtly pursuing full control because they don't trust anyone to look after themselves.

I think Trump will have far more important issues to pursue and sort out than chasing old political opponents through the courts.

Or, at least, I hope so.

I hope not - the whole Clinton Foundation is rotten to the core and needs to be addressed.

He's a republican because it got him on the ticket. The speech he made today isn't out of line with his previous speeches, his plan has always been to spend a lot of money.

It's pretty strange. He's talked about the same stuff (minus the frothing nonsense) for years in fairness. Maybe this is the new face of American Republicanism that the GOP needed. The old one wasn't going anywhere.

Do you think he really has any strong opinion on abortion?

He's been mostly pro LGBT - when he won the Republican nomination he made a point of getting the audience to applause for that community and then went on to thank the audience for doing so and how it made him so happy.

Do you reckon he reads his bible at night? Or owns one?

Infrastructure spending is one of those few areas along with education where government spending has a huge multiplier effect.

Maybe the act he put on throughout this was just that? Or maybe he'll be a complete disaster.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.
