Huh, so just to clarify. You do know that the NHS isn't exactly free as such? We pay for it out of our wages. Its automatically taken out of our wages by the government along with income tax.
What do you mean "along with Income Tax"?

It IS funded by Income Tax (and lots of other taxes too).

Did you think that your National Insurance payments were to fund the NHS?

It doesn't come with a $2,000 excess though, as in the OPs example!

It is free at the point of use, which I think is what he meant - obviously it is paid for at some point.

Now you have the GOP across the board it will be easy to push any old crap through so you may end up with the opposite problem where there is no filtering of the man born to be King.
Yes and no. Trump isn't really GOP, indeed he is a massive problem for the future of the GOP. Not all of the GOP's congress men and senators are clinically insane either, so if Trump tries to push forward economically suicidally stupid ideas, he'll meet real opposition from the realists.

In particular I do wonder how the GOP is going to react to the idea of a public spending bonanza on infrastructure when the size of the federal budget and the national debt is one of their key complaints?

will you scale back on the 'prepping' now that the Trump is in charge?

Maybe downgrade into a simple stair dominator?

Also wasn't there an economic crash during the Obama years as well which was outside of his control but was nurtured under the previous Republican President.
And facilitated by the relaxing of banking restrictions by Bill Clinton.

Every President has to deal with the legacy of previous administrations.
I was responding to

"These 8 years have been a rapid decline in America due to the Democrats running the government into the ground. We were promised hope and change, all we got was the opposite. I've seen families destroyed, morals disappear, towns devastated, businesses collapse, municipalities bankrupt, promotion of racial segregation, a war on cops, and hatred for the Constitution. Apparently we are supposed to be ashamed of being American. This is toxic leadership at its worse."

It is way to simplistic to just say Democrat bad Republican good the Republican party had as much to do with the decline of the USA as the President (by decline I am repeating what others have said it isn't my own opinion).

What I mean is, when I look at my wage slip it says:

NI xxxxx
IT xxxxx

So NI (Nation Insurance) is distinguished from Income Tax.

I was under the impression that National Insurance is used to pay for:
•The NHS
•Unemployment benefit
•Sickness and disability allowances
•The state pension

Seemingly it's just pensions and benefits: https://www.gov.uk/national-insurance/what-nationa...

It all goes into the same big pot - along with all the other taxes paid by businesses. NI was set up pre World War ONE to fund state pensions. It has long since been subsumed into general funding for everything.

The vast bulk of NHS expenditure is funded by taxation rather than NI.

Nope. It all goes into one big pot. NHS spending is greater than the total of NIC receipts. Only by 5 or 6 £billion or so though.

Sort of. The government is also borrowing a lot to help fund it too.

This. As I have pointed out numerous times the Bush administration tried multiple times to rein in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and was stymied by Congress.

You are not an American are you. You live there.

You are Bob from Birmingham with a stetson and faux fawning for an imagined belief.

I lived in the UK for the most of my life. The charge is nothing like paying 500 quid a month for crappy healthcare.

It's a great day to be an American. As I sip on a cold ice tea and play with my new Chevy 350 small block, I reflect on how the last 8 years has changed so much for the worse.

These 8 years have been a rapid decline in America due to the Democrats running the government into the ground. We were promised hope and change, all we got was the opposite. I've seen families destroyed, morals disappear, towns devasted, businesses collapse, municipalities bankrupt, promotion of racial segregation, a war on cops, and hatred for the Constitution. Apparently we are supposed to be ashamed of being American. This is toxic leadership at its worse.

It's about time we took care of ourselves and let the rest of the world take care of itself. It's going to be a great thing. Nationalism not globalism. Liberty not liberal.

The Dems said they were going to end Enduring Freedom, yet I have been to 9 funerals as a result of the on going Democrats failure to provide change.

A pro constitution supreme Court justice will be appointed to maintain the balance and not overturn D.C. V Heller.

Killary needs to be investigated properly, as well as Huma's connection to Saudi Terror Groups. Heads need to roll in wallstreet and abolish the federal reserve. Tear up Obamacare and end the fractional reserve currency system.

It's still hard to believe against all odds and the lying mainstream media that Freedom endured.

President Trump has a lot of fixing to do, with that said,

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
And good luck to you Sir. I'm hoping this is the start of the end of PC, something that has crippled us for years. When you hear that the boss has more interest in gender neutral toilets than his country going bust, its over!!!
