Your other post said nothing of government and law.

Persecution of gay people is disgusting no matter what and the reality is that a subset of people (if not the government) in all belief systems will bash them.

Go enjoy being gay in Russia, or the deep southern states, see how you get on. I assure you, homophobia is alive and well in the "christian" nations.

There you have the attitudes of a very pretty but insanely mixed up young British woman. The rest of the episode sees Maajid Nawaz going almost blue trying to challenge these ideas, but you see the deep down ideals held and you tell me we can somehow hold hands and be best mates. All i can see is the climate of fear and distrust in the west growing. As Islam takes a bigger place in the West things will become very tribal, not only must we deal with the segregation of white and non-white cultures but we must deal with the hatred of these cultures for each other.
You could quite easily point to a bakery that refused to make a cake for a gay couple as it offended their christian beliefs, extremists exists in all religions, what boils your piss religious extremists or just muslim extremists?

Refusing to bake a cake and stabbing British Policemen and beheading British Soldiers.

The similarities are striking!

It's only a short while ago that the land of gay cakes wasn't exactly flowers and roses either. Being the wrong type of Christian could be a fatal mistake.

Yes, you can find plenty of Christians who don't agree in homosexuality. However, where in the judeo-christian world will being gay get you dead?

in regards to moving to the US, i'd love to, it's a big beautiful country, it's the cultural progeny of Europe and maybe one of the few correct republics with an enviable constitution.

Edited by MrBrightSi on Friday 24th March 15:05
Do you think 5oh considers himself to be the cultural progeny of Europe? He damns Europe as being full of lefty-libtards, the EXACT people who created a culture of liberal tolerance.

I'm sure you probably realise that hardline muslims share the same views about homosexuality/women etc as other far-right groups and people like 5oh?

5oh has points and if you'd all jump off your high horse, he isn't the boogieman as pointed out. His issues with Hillary Clinton are there for all to see, his issue with people trying to remove rights to own guns by preaching a top a pile of dead kids is all there for people to see.

I'd like proof of 5oh saying gays deserve laws that will have them hung from a crane to strangle to death over an hour or two.

I just want to leave this one on the table get raped by a man(as a man) in Iran and you're going to get dead too.

Edit: I damn Europe for tolerating the intolerable too, i do think Liberals have been conflated with progressives though, progressive retards want to push forward with the hand holding, even if it means holding the hands of people who do not respect you, who like the muslim brotherhood pushed m-103 in Canada, are using our wonderful society and way of life against us.

Rscott, it made me laugh you used the Ottoman empire as any kind of decent view into the Islamic world. They were a brutal and vile empire, who got away with quite a lot of not talked about genocides. Turkey is hardly open to gays nowadays, i can remember when the pride parade there was attacked even though it had been allowed to go through, the underlying opinions there soon shut it down.

So your point is what exactly? You think we don't know Iran is messed up compared to our civilization? Whats the point you make though? If an Iranian man who had been raped by another man was fleeing and ended up trying to seek asylum in the UK you would kick up a fuss wouldn't you?
These refugees are fleeing stuff like that and worse yet I imagine you are one of the ones moaning about them daring to want to run from that and to find some civilization and humanity.... you are a mixed up bag. Have a great weekend, I'm out of here, i'm sure you'll have a busy weekend sat in your bedsit on PH thrashing away at the keyboard.

I have just returned from a 4 week tour of the USA, top to bottom for work in several major cities. What a fantastic place.

PH is tame compared to most of the views I came across, the primary (filtered) view is that religious integration and multiculturalism simply does not work. Read from that what you will.

Anyone care to name a place where it does work?

Yep - pretty hard to integrate with the Christian nutjobs in the US...way too much religion in their politics.

Isn't the whole basis of America Multi-culturalism?

The Irish, Germans, Chinese, Italians, Dutch...?

It seems the only people who say "Religious integration and multiculturalism simply does not work" are those with an extreme right wing bent.

It's worked for centuries all over the world, but sadly, from time to time it rears its ugly head and sane people who should know better succumb to hating their colleagues and neighbours because of their heritage or their religious beliefs (or maybe even those of their grandparents!).

It's extremism on both sides that is driving the agenda - The Squeaky Wheels getting the oil.

If sensible people just said "This was a nutter killing people on the say so (or even just pandering to the whims) of some other utter sts thousands of miles away" life would be better for all, but once people say "Oh, it's those Muslims again, we need to do something about them", we're playing right into the hands of the extremists on both sides...

I've visited America many times, lots of my American friends are mortified at the right wing hatred being spouted by Trump and his disciples, but as here, it's the bigots who get all the coverage...

Let us know when you feel like talking about that white supremacist in New York, one of your fellow military buddies? Would seem you ain't the only ahole to have been in the US Army.
Er, this guy is a fantasist. He's never been in any army. He claims to be an ex-Manchester policeman.
