It's more than time that people stood up and sorted things out themselves.
How would you go about sorting it all out?
If I found out my 11 year old boy was being raped by a football coach I'd do more than write a letter to the Football authorities.

What would you do?
You are the one who, by implication, heavily criticised the parents of one of the victims, suggesting it was about time they sorted things out themselves. It is easy to criticise, but I assume, by your lack of answer, that you realise that it is harder to come up with a plan of action that of itself would not be open to criticisms itself.

I doubt you are interested in what I might have done, but if you want a considered reply, I'll post it.
i made it clear what I would do in that position. Perhaps you need to re-read my posts?

He could post on here!

Eric Bristow - 3D squidgy real life internet hard man.

What a clattering buttock and EXACTLY why victims don't come forward.

Maybe someone could quietly inform him that his approach emboldens and aids paedophiles - wonder if he'll be happy with that....

And a nice bit of homophobia added in too by conflating paedophilia with homosexuality.

Horrendous stuff from Bristow. I know its popular to be like that these days but really, its loathsome to want people to see that is in your head.
I'd take a wild guess the people who follow him won't be too impressed by what he's said either.
As much as we'd all like to say we'd kill anyone who touched our kids or loved ones, once that happens its very very important you actually don't as all you do is end up in jail, there is no case sadly of a person exacting revenge and getting a medal.

I really would love to think i'd kill any peado that crossed my path, but the truth really is, i don't want to be behind bars for the rest of my life thanks.
You actually i'd imagine more likely block it all out and carry on.

Bristow
a) needs help with constructing sentences on social media
b) needs to reflect and maybe actively seek to help work with people who have been abused or maybe donate some money..

Frankly the notion its the abused who is weak, rather than the abuser who is at fault is disgusting....

Unfortunately - I suspect listening to victims won't change his point of view.

If he went in with an open mind, I suspect he'd be reduced to tears. But the exact reason he has spouted such guff is that he hasn't an open mind.

As this story unfolds, remember this phrase "pool parties". I wont say anything else as it might be completely innocent but I will be looking out for this very carefully over the coming months.

More calls received than the jimmy saville enquiry - depressing reading. Apparently some of the calls are about current abuse which is quite horrific in itself.

OK so your gut says what mine says "go into kill mode, get revenge, make it very slow and painful". Luckily gut and actually doing something are not always as easy (its called not having the guts for a reason). I say luckily as all you'd do is end up in jail for murder and that's really not what your child would need at this point ever.
So you'd do what we have to face we'd do which is allow the police to do all of that whilst you console and care for your off spring.... not a wimpy thing to do, just good sense.

Truth is you kill a peado you are doing jail time, in the eyes of the law its just murder, you may feel it was justified but you'll have that belief from behind bars with along time to think about it...

I'd want to be remembered as the Dad that was there for my child not the Dad who killed his abuser and ended up in jail for 10-20 years.. if that makes me a wimp then so be it...i'm a wimp.

Any chance you could give us a bit of a clue what you are on about?

I'm no Piers Morgan fan (who is apart from the man himself?) but he tore Bristow apart on GMTV this week!

Chelsea just made their apology seem very sincere
They just stopped a BBC reported from reporting on the apology whilst live outside Stamford bridge.
What a pisstake

Chelsea have proved what a classless club they are throughout..

There's still so much more to come from this very sad story.

Seems like this story might include a huge number of clubs so I think it's a little early to start getting in your "classless" jibes. Or do you consider child abuse is a suitable platform to make pathetic fan rivalry jibes. That's classy.

this has got nothing to do with football clubs an everything to do with men who think young Children are fair game for their perverted minds

Chelsea statement - 'they have no desire to hide historical abuse' - no, not now they've been found out for paying hush money. Just for that alone they deserve having the book thrown at them. Its bad enough it went on at their club, they made it worse by keeping quiet about it but to know & pay to keep it quiet is just an appalling attitude from the owners & board. I wonder if it will come out that any of the other clubs implicated have done likewise. I hope not for the players involved.

Let's get this straight.

The victim went to the PFA - they did nothing.

The victim went to the police - they did nothing.

The victim instructed a solicitor to ask Chelsea for compensation - they did something. They gave him the compensation he asked for and the victim's solicitor accepted the standard non disclosure clauses.

I can't see where Chelsea have acted badly here. It's the PFA and police that need to come up with answers.

If posters could set aside their football allegiances and stop trying to score petty points and instead focus on the real issue we might make some progress.
