Nice to see a new sketch show. Staple comedy format of my childhood, they are now few and far between.

Last night's effort was a bit hit and miss, but there was some good stuff in there.
Jack Whitehall played his parts very well and the Holmes and Watson sketches were very funny.

Watched the beginning then turned off.

Really long set ups to weak gags.

Yes, nice to see a straightforward sketch show again. As has been said, a bit hit and miss but not too bad.

Really enjoyed it and I'll make a point of watching...think they might be able to develop some of the characters going forward.

The last scene where he was slapping Whitehall was very funny.

ETA... the Holmes/Watson sketch with the violin bow hehe

Is it worth a second go for me? I saw up to the dating game show, does it get better?

We didn't think so; overall very disappointing with the funniest bit being his announcement at the start of the programme.

Watched it. Didn't laugh once. Quite liked the opera/footie songs. Too long though.

Shan't watch again.

I thought the same, and also for some of the Little Britain sketches that just laboured the gag a bit too much. Although for that specific one they'd shown some of it on the One Show earlier so that didn't help.

I'll probably record the rest in case it improves. I didn't see the previous one-off show.

Watched it, not expecting much. It was better than I thought it was going to be though. The Sherlock sketches and the Jeremy Kyle sketch where Jack Whitehall was cracking up were good (and the end credit Jeremy Kyle outtake). I'll keep watching.

Except M&W were consistently funny. This wasn't by a long stretch.

They really weren't, we just remember all the classic bits and those are what get repeated.

Jeeez....watched up to the dating game too.....that was so awful. I've been bought up with the Fast Show and Harry and Chums....absolutely no comparison.

I stuck with it for 3 episodes as I'm a huge fan of Sheridan Smith.
Quite possibly the worst 'comedy' show I've ever seen.Shan't bother watching any more.
To be fair I've never found Walliams funny in anything

The last two posts sum up why I won't be watching it.

David Walliams is as funny as Norovirus (see also Matt Lucas) and I've never laughed once at anything he's done. The Fast Show was brilliantly written, had characters to identify and was superbly acted with very few weak parts.

sadly I have to agree, wathced the first show and the overwhelming majority of it was unfunny. Just seems like the BBC indulging someone with a high profile to make whatever crap he likes in the hope that his name will get it a decent following.

The problem with the BBC is they sign someone up to a contract, say 3 years, just as an example and then have to think up shows to put them in.
It's happened with Jonathon Ross in the past and others. We then get them doing stuff they are not good at.

Look at HIGNFY,we get the same guests over and over again. It's as if they only have a small pool to pick from
