A Chinese superpower is not good for Europe or the USA, why it has been tolerated for so long is beyond me.
Tolerated?

What is the criteria in becoming a tolerated superpower other than white skin?
By "tolerated" perhaps the poster is alluding to things such as them charging a 25% tariff on imported cars, while we charge between 0-2.5%. Now people want to bh because DT wants to level the playing field? China hacked formula secrets of U.S. Steel and used them to make cheaper steel off others' innovations. "Tolerate" may well mean putting up with crap that the WTO is constantly calling illegal.

Good, and I hope he makes it happen.
Appears that it's all a bit of smoke and mirrors

A bit like the Carrier deal which saved just 800 jobs at a cost of $7M to the taxpayer
Stop being thick. That same $7 million incentive was offered before by Indiana and turned down. It was the promise to roll back certain regulations along with the $7m that sealed the deal. There have been 260 new federal government regs put forth in this year alone regarding industry; 57 of those directly affected Carrier.

Good then; China has skipped along too long without being "seriously concerned".

I agree, but is it to late? my fear was that the west was giving away manufacturing to china, factories that make 'stuff' can be changed to make military 'stuff'
The makings of a cruise missile are not very complex, I remember reading a guy in NZ built one, my fear is cruise missiles numbering in the 10 if not 100s of thousands, a washing machine factory becomes a missile factory, how would America along with her allies cope, we appear to have forgotten the lessons from the 2ww where our factories switched to the war effort, the old Roman saying prepare for war to have the peace, appears also to have been forgotten.

The one bright spot is the unpredictably of President Trump, the Chinese will not have a clue how he will react, they will be burning the midnight oil trying to work him out, which is good. hehe

There was no such rumor. He was displaying anger at how many years and $billions the program has overrun. That is a way to put companies on notice that such profiteering is going to be better scrutinized. Lockheed Martin has already been in touch with Trump explaining how they are going to remedy such things. Far from your "cancellation" scare tactic.
