We have learned that there was a rape and murder in a foreign country once. Does that count?
To be honest I had assumed there were things like that going on quite regularly in other countries so I probably can't even count that

Personally, I have learned that sometimes (increasingly in many PH thread cases), it's better not to fan the flames generated by posts from those whose opinions you are diametrically opposed. Unless of course a full-on argument is exactly what one wants. I realise that some would quote my own posts/replies back at me as "evidence" of hypocrisy. I, of course, would counter that my comments were factual and/or merely a response to a weak, well vocalised mantra, Or just plain trolling.

The thing is, I read a lot, lot more than on PH than I comment. I do actually weigh the comments from both/all sides of the "debates" across the various forum threads on PH & have altered my views on a number of occasions. But on certain thread, almost without fail, things quickly descend into "whatabouitism", cries of "ist" & "phobe" & lot of condescension & general acidity. Again, I'm well aware that I can dish it out too.

It's all a bit daft really because I'm sure in real life, many posters would have more in common than would appear obvious from the postings on PH. Anyway, not much to contribute to the actual topic other than to say how terrible it must be for the family of the victim, especially just heading towards Christmas. Also, obviously not every immigrant is a villainous type but it's easy to see how such destructive opinions come to be with the rapid & apparent rise in uncontrolled immigration. Coupled with a lot of the worlds other woes.

Of one thing I am certain though: shouting & slinging insults at one another is not going to solve anything.
