Kangaroos have always been belligerent, exhibitionist pricks.

Shocking. Skippy needed to keep his hands paws higher. He's wide open. Especially against an opponent with a longer reach.

I nearly had my bike leathers made out of kangaroo hide but they would've been quite a bit more expensive, mainly due to the fact that they're always bloody fighting so an un-scarred 'roo hide commands a premium.

I assume appropriate action is a handshake and 'bloody well done mate, did ya see the size of that thing, what a whopper' (said in an Aussie accent)
Clearly. Anyone who thinks he deserves a medal's over reacting a little but obviously he's a hero as far as the dogs are concerned. And that's what counts, not the opinions of a bunch of screeching commentards etc.

That dog was pretty big, I'd be a bit upset if it were my dog, my jack Russel cross wouldn't have got caught in a headlock and just complied... Fair play to the geezer, I imagine that thing could fk you up with one of those big kicks.

If a roo engaged me on that level where he'd already disabled Alpha 2 I'd have had to act with extreme prejudice and at least given it a dead leg. They might look friendly but you never know with these brown eyed foreigners. >Stares a thousand miles away<

What kind of dog lets itself be grabbed in a headlock by a Kangaroo? Pathetic.

And the prequel - Skippy lays down some moves and brings out the bear hug (just shows that was one lucky dog with an even braver owner)

Taronga Western Plains Zoo has now said there is "No suggestion" that Tonkins will be fired. Despite some furtive and vociferous hand wringing by The Humane Society International Australia the zoo has been “inundated with concern” for their employee.

“We continue to work with Mr Tonkins on his conduct in regards to this incident.” //Translation: "Probably best if you don't film this sort of thing".

I think people think they're nice cute cuddly things that just wanted to give the doggy a hug.

If they encountered one I reckon they'd think different.

fking love the reaction from the 'roo though.. like proper "WTF just happened?!" laugh
The guy wouldn't be laughing if the roo had rolled back and kicked him, with them bloody great toe nail things they have.
