It's a franchise business, there's not much profit in coffee and if there was Stelios would have a corporate owned network.
Not much profit in coffee? It's a few beans and hot water and most charge several quid a cup!!! All that jazz said:
I've become quite a fan of McD's black coffee for £1.29. It's got a decent strong taste to it in 'regular' size, just how I like it. Unfortunately the 'large' size of same is like piss water and I think that's all they do is add more water and no extra coffee to balance it. I rarely buy it anywhere else as I think more than £1.50 for a simple black coffee is a rip-off.
The only chain with black coffee really worth talking about is Carluccios, but McD is a solid 2nd place. I usually can't be bothered with coffee shops, because the rest are no better than what I can do at home with a good quality instant.mcflurry said:

In Starbucks etc in the USA, you can usually get a house blend coffee for a buck or buck 50. In UK, it is like 2.50!
Easy coffee sounds like a good idea.
Starbucks UK charge £1 for a tall filter coffee.. Easy coffee sounds like a good idea.

I really like McD tea, and their ice cream. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
