Wow. Must've been very aggressive/advanced cancer. I'll miss his column in the Sunday Times. R.I.P. Mr Gill.

He did say he had the "Full English" of cancers. He was about to get married - hope he managed that before he passed . Very sad news.

I used to enjoy his restruant reviews in the ST, back in the days when I actually bought newspapers.

Morrisey,the man, perfectly imo, though I admit to being a fan of his lyrics and music.

Very sad.

Greatly enjoyed his writing, and the'full English' piece was very affecting.

He was the Will Self that you didn't want to stab.

Sad news, had way too much of it this year frown

I read that when he had been told the news, Jimmy Carr flew him to Whitby for fish and chips at the Magpie. Which says a heck of a lot about all of them.
