I think a lot of the mirth is due to (whilst being obviously talented) the way he sqaundered his money, life and was rather stupid.
It's easy to think 'couldn't you have done a bit better than that with what you had?'
The string of offences he's been had up for and even been inside too. Driving a car into a shop front, falling out of one on a motorway, usually high on class A, a string of recent failed hits, not much to brag about there.

I tend to agree with all of the above and have been known to cause a stir on PH by commenting on recreational grieving before now.... however what I see in this thread (so far) isn't an 'outpouring of grief' but mainly people expressing their surprise and making crude jokes.
