If this isn't politics in all its gory (not a typo) then it's hard to imagine what is.

The proposed Swansea Tidal Lagoon.

It's well worth taking the time to read the comments - pretty much all of them as of up to the time I am posting this.

Makes Hinckley Point look like an absolute bargain whether the chosen reactor design ever works or not.

However one can assume that the tidal flow of government funding will regularly top up the trough from the which the experts take their sustenance.
this is politics and money transfer in the vein of camerons father in law, from the tax payer to the selected few. if this ever gets off the ground it will be an utter travesty.

Wow. I had grasped that a tidal barrage was going to cost a fortune compared to Hinkley Point, but had not looked into it beyond the PR so was unaware of a) the pisspoor mean output(£1.3bn for 60MW !!!) and b) the fact distribution around the UK coast will do little to address intermittency. What a fking scam.

On Radio 4 about 30 minutes ago, they were discussing computer models for disease treatment/prevention.

I have italicised the actual words: "As with any extremely complex scientific research such as climate change and medicine, all computer models are wrong, but some can be useful. "

Standards must be slipping.

Roger Harbinger of Doom will be seeking the culprit's dismissal from the BBC, just as soon as he's able to get his sun cream cleaned off and dressed appropriately for winter in shorts and a vest...

My goodness this AGW tidal s**t is expensive - I wonder which rich person is getting richer on the back of it. And I wonder just how much damage it will do the wild life.

Like any news source it has an agenda/viewpoint. It may be different from yours but is no less valid for that. The Guardian The BBC is no more and no less,

Don't worry, durby seems to have a thing about Brietbart and, when he gets a thing in his mind, he won't let go. You might have noticed it somewhere else...hehe
