I said "Don't look Ethel!", but it's too late, she'd already been incensed.

I read that article over the weekend - it' yet more BBC professionally offended bks.

No, I dont think one should watch Frankie in public. I doubt anyone would read Razzle in public either.

Thing is, in that article thre author says ze looked at matey boys phone several times, then she decided that she knew inner heart ze was offended. Well don't look at someone else's phone then, you utter tart.

We all make choices in life. If you choose to go looking for offense you'll find it. If you go sticking your nose in others business you might not like it.

For all we know it might have been:
"I was on the bus having a text message chat with my mate. Some new age feminist type sat down next to me, kept looking at my phone. Baz said put some grot on, just to wind her up. It was class, she was visibly livid."

...but then that would have made a really lame story for women's hour.

My favourite bit was:
"His eyes didn't meet mine so I couldn't even communicate my feelings non-verbally"
I can just picture her doing an Am-Dram pained expression (ref: Daily Mail photoshoot) and staring at the bloke, willing him to look at her.

Also loved the fact that she needed to mention the video involved a "large" woman. The fattist bh!

Everyone should have a hobby. But I don't think I'd like to sit beside a bloke building a balsa wood aircraft.

As mentioned, there is an offence that the person might have committed.

I wonder if he got off at the right stop? hehe

Seriously though ...

Surely the point of this kind of material is to provide visual stimulus, to help you on your way, so to speak. Given that you're not going to be "on your way" on a bus, why would you be looking at it?

I found the conclusion of the article a trifle ambiguous;

BBC said:
And even if police wanted to investigate incidents of porn-watching on public transport, passengers can get off whenever they like.
Anyone watching porn on public transport is grim.

Not sure how true it is, but I've heard it said that reading pornography on public transport is not unusual in Japan.

Have things got to such a state that you now need to be able to sell your worldly goods on a bus too?

Is this a cex thing? smile

I quite agree. Public transport is grim indeed.

You've not been on a late night bus have you hehe

As for the article, if she was that offended, then move to another part of the bus....or get the tube...or ride a bike.

It would probably be a conversation opener for you .. wink

Actually, I have to confess to have been caught browsing 'adult material' by accident. You know how Safari opens up with the most recent page you were browsing - well that happened - and at 95% volume because I had just finished a phone call before getting on the train. Got a few suggestive looks from the lady standing over me. boxedin

Haven't the BEEB got better things to do? Who on earth could police this type of 'crime' effectively??
I only briefly scanned the article, but assume that said miscreant either had ear phones or there was no sound. Either way, porn on a 4.5 inch screen must be a bit crap. My 15 inch laptop is bad enough, even with nicely proportioned actors.
