It's not rape in my eyes.
What is it? (in your eyes)Motorrad said:

Out of intrest, what would you have thought if you had come around to discover a bloke riding you....? Would it have made your perception different? popeyewhite said:
In the eyes of the law you are absolutely correct. However for some of us less pedantic PH non lawyers it's an oddity that when a man has intercourse with a woman against her will it's rape, but when a woman has intercourse with a man against his will it's not rape. Hence my comment the law is inherently sexist.
That's because, like most people, you think of rape as sex without consent. Whereas that's not what rape is. As stated, rape has a very specific meaning. Just because something is similar does not make it the same. It's not pedantic at all. I'm sure you'd correct someone who said they had a VW Octavia. TwigtheWonderkid said:

A very specific meaning in law you mean. The meaning elsewhere tends to include female on male. The current law does have a sexist slant. Yes on current legislation is is correct but that does not mean it is right.
Much like the common misconception all charities are little groups of volunteers giving up their free time to help the less fortunate.
I can't see the rape law changing but I would like to see the sentences for offences committed by women match those committed by men.
The notion that women should not be punished as severely for crime is quite ridiculous.

Don't expect an answer to that question. There's certainly a debate to be had about the nature of consent - but looking at the reporting in this case I am pretty amazed that it wasn't prosecuted when something like Ched Evans was.

Suppose some might be prepared to change their minds if they thought there was a life changing pay day in it though. But for example your out with some friends and blokes getting drunk, you go back to this blokes flat who you sort of know via other mates, you crash at his on sofa, next thing you wake up and he's bumming you.... you'd still tick it off as 'a bad night' and get on with your life?
Or if your wife was drunk and some bloke did this you'd say "fair enough, that's life, i'd of done the same mate"
The story of these footballers is apparently a door man said she was so drunk they were calling for an ambulance when the footballers said she could share their taxi and they'd get her back 'safe'..... next thing they take her to their's and well....it's not something i'd ever condone...vile...

If it did would that be due to someone's sexuality? Should it make a difference in law?I think many heterosexual men waking from a stupor to find a woman having sex with them would likely shrug it off. I think if you were a woman and found 'this happening it would be a far different result.

I reckon I'd have been horrified and assaulted him.Sometimes it about more than the law, its about your upbringing and how your Mum taught you to behave. For me trying to take opportunities to shag massively drunk girls was never ever honestly on my agenda, to try to work out if i was within the law to do so never crossed my mind, it seems wrong, it seems to me i'd not enjoy it as i like my women to be engaged in the act as well and also i don't hate women so wouldn't want to do anything but make sure they are safe and happy.
In my youth I had girls come back to mine and many times I thought of the responsibility they had given me and many times i couldn't believe how willing girls were to go home with people they didn't know. I did pass over a few shags due to them being drunk and next day they seemed confused as to why I would do that...I missed out and they were left thinking i was odd, but in truth I'm glad i'm wired up that way as it maybe saved me a few times and also i feel ok about myself as a 40 something with kids and a wife.
One of my old girlfriends once told me in a "hey get this its well funny" way that she was out with friends and steaming drunk, next thing her friends see her being propped up and carried out of the club, they follow think its a doorman but when they get to the door this bloke is dragging her off down the street, so they kick off and he legs it....now that is shocking no? The fact she thought it was funny and the fact some blokes are wired up wrong.

Your story is vile, I don't want to think about it that much as i've been lucky to be pretty handsome ]
Custard test: stick up a picture of yourself with a tin of Birds and we'll be the judge of what a good looking boy you are. If a drunk bloke can wake up horrified that another man has bummed him....then why can't a woman if a bloke has shagged her?
Where do we draw the line? A woman can think she's just friends with a male as much as a male can think he's just friends with a bloke. Even if you go back to someone house and your about to shag but then they do something grim, if you then at that point say no or vomit and pass out even...then they should simply stop. They are vile humans if not.
