Why? We're a top 5 economy, one of the largest contributors to global aid/development, home to some of the worlds largest businesses and NGOs, have one the largest diplomatic missions in the world and lots of historical/current ties to many countries etc....

That does seem to be the pattern to world events sadly.

So let me get this right you want us to leave the one organisation where we have a absolute veto and a permanent seat at the top table?
I reckon we will lose our right to the top table, as you put it, within a while. We have no real right to it at the moment and leaving the EU will cost us influence.

The UN has done sterling work around the world with its various institutions. While it is a talking shop, that's considerably better than the alternative. Look up the League of Nation's history and see what happens when countries leave international organisations.

Or perhaps we can ignore the lessons of history and just repeat the failures of the past.
While i agree with most of your points i dont think we will loose our place at the top table, the septics like the fact they can rely on us to back them .also we are a founding member and we still have the bomb.

is there a mechanism with in the u.n. for removing one of the permanent members of the security council? im not sure there is

just looked it up and short of a permanent member voting themselves off of the security council a permanent member cannot be removed ,it takes two thirds of the membership of the u.n. and all of the permanent members to agree to change the un charter. only a change in the un charter can change who the permanent members are

What - you mean voting Leave didn't mean I would no longer have to suffer "Eurovision" it was my #8 out of my 273 reason to leave

Fifa - well that organisation makes the EU look like a charity or utterly trustworthy in a swamp full of liars

I still like Tears for Fears.

Nope apparently we're still in Eurovision. I only voted leave to so we can get an extra £350M a week into the NHS.

Option 1 - "Well we need to fund it somehow" biggrin

Option 2 - "Hey Lads we've found him - the only person that actually believed what was written of that big red bus"

Option 3 - "I'm calling troll on that - you must be a reamin person we don't like them types round these places"

Every other country takes it seriously, which I think tells you more about the failure of the UK to integrate into Europe than anything else.

The BBC fund it - I thought the EU funded it!!!

We are far more intertwined than I ever thought possible - It'll take years to leave

Yes we should leave the EU and become like that bloke on the Fast Show, you know "This week I have mainly been eating Rich Tea and shepards pie"

Why don't we just leave planet earth and build a pub and a chippy on Mars, sure we'd all be much happier up there away from all these bloody foreigners.

That was Brilliant - I won a few quid that night - in fact a whole bunch of us did as a result of a tip from a mate who is fanatical about Eurovision

Half the continent dabbled in a bit of fascism and the other half communism, it doesn't mean we have to do the same.
