He will not get impeached, he will resign beforehand. So a Strop-off, I suppose.

What happens afterwards is the really worrying part. The right to carry guns is all about having the ability to overthrow an unwanted government. And the NRA makes sure that their followers are fully "locked and loaded".

However, it would not surprise me if the Special Counsel led to impeachment, Trump refuses to resign and fights it, wins, and then gets re-elected.
Similarly it wouldn't surprise he that much if Trump refused to co-operate with the Special Counsel and ended up getting impeached for that (rather than for any obstruction of justice that led to the SC's appointment), was found guilty, refused to leave office, rallied an armed group to march on Washington, and ends up precipitating a mini left vs right civil war.
Nothing seems clear any more.
Indeed, it's like...a new line gets marked each day, no point being amazed at anything that happens, because shortyl, a new line of wacky will be drawn. Veep/Bob Roberts/Thick of It/Whoops Apocalypse/Dead ZOne/Idicocracy/Dave/Man of the Year/Manchurian Candidate et al all rolled into one. the night the penny dropped that he was going to win, about 11pm US time, there was some conference where one of his cronies spoke and people were in disbeleif that this guy with no political experience was going to be president. The guy agreed and said quite clearly as I recall, that he would surround himself with people, spend just 2 years max at the helm, then hand over to Pence.
It's never been repeated from what I see, but it seems quite likely, although will he last 2 years!!
