Years ago I knew someone who claimed to have been a paid shill at one point in his life on certain motor racing forums. I did not doubt him in the least.

I would not be surprised if pistonheads, being the largest mass male forum in the UK, has the same infiltration.
Wasn't called Milo was he?
He wasn't but then he tells there was a whole load of them at it as literally a day job. They were recruited to 'promotions positions' but this was part of the job, couple of hours a day each.

I admit it changed my perception of much of what I've read posted on line by individuals since, no question of that.

He appears to have missed that the referendum was in 2016, not 2017.
Indeed.

For such bright people you'd have thought they'd have chucked their money at it prior to 23rd June, helping Remain elaborate their cast iron arguments to convince everyone.

Hang on though...didn't Blair get involved? And didn't that work out really well?

These people really, really do not understand the depth of negative feeling towards them and what they stand for.

Still, spunk your money how you want chaps. It's all redistribution.

No he is just an annoying pompous ginger tt, if he's not on board with what's happening he can Foxtrott Oscar back to his little island and play Lord and Master to his 'friends' ( aka paying guests).

Is this the same Branson who lives in a low-tax island on the other side of the world...

To be fair, though, with Theresa Mayhem going all-out for Daily Mail hard Brexit and thousands of jobs already starting to flee the City of London (Britain's last remaining great industry), beardy Branson is right to be concerned.
Who has fled? There has been threats and thats all they will amount to if the UK is still a good place to do business so lets not get too ahead of ourselves, the broad brexit plan has been laid out but no specifics yet.

Branson should shut his mouth.
The drumbeat of City job losses is getting louder and louder.

HSBC 1,000 going to Paris.
Goldman Sachs 3,000 going to Frankfurt and NY.
UBS 1,000 going to Frankfurt and Madrid.
Lloyds 100 going to Frankfurt.

And that is just in the past week...

The phrase "leaving the single market" has put the cat among the pigeons.

A trickle is on the verge of becoming a flood. When London goes down, the rest of UK will be dragged down with it.
These numbers are miniscule, I mean really miniscule. Barclays bank is on our side! imo the EU project has been a disaster for workong people of the UK. Cheap labour from abroad has been gfeat for business, undercutting wages and burgeoning profits, but look at the Social cost.

Dail Mail article today Richard Branson is planning, along with a group of top business people to block the Brexit plan. He is putting in a pot of cash as a fighting fund and determined to win through. Apparently the great British public do not understand the implications attached to Brexit and with the fighting fund he and his followers will, presumebly, educate us to the disasters we face unless we change our minds.
Its the usual 'we know better than you' routine.

Man of the people?
It's their money. It's a democracy. They can do what they like.

Not sure why all the panic tbh.....
No panic at all, just a news story amongst hindreds of others. But for me it demonstrates big business are in a panic over Brexit. Pity he and bis tribe cannot respect democracy and have such disdain for the British public.

You do understand 48% of the so called loosers are in no mood to accept loss of access to what the eu offers, good or bad.
I dont blame Branson, i doubt he is doing it because of business interest, I'm sure he will not live forever and he knows money will not follow him.
Perhaps some people dont like to be told to have faith, when last 6 months have been a complete car crash

But yeah calling people loosers is what YOU should be doing, all the time

Fool. How old are you?
If you think the last 6 months have been a complete car crash, you really, really can't have stood on this planet very long. Don't worry yourself, one day you'll grow up.
Then again, perhaps not.

Tax dodging / avoiding megalomaniac doesn't like the majority decision and wants to change it. Hypocrite? Dictator mentality? Not a good combination.

There is nothing he is doing which isn't (a) democratic or (b) open to others to do.

Aarron Banks did much the same, as did many others during the referendum.

It's a good thing PH isn't hypocritical. You forgot to suggest that he probably speeds as well.

I read somewhere that part of May's strategy is 'no deal is better than a bad deal', & that if 'hard Brexit' does occur, the 'financial model' of the UK will be changed accordingly. One of the changes would be lowering corporation tax, thus making the City a more competitive place to do business than anywhere in the EU. How the tax loss is recouped I don't know, but perhaps someone more knowledgeable on PH can explain??
Furthermore, London is an extremely attractive place to be based. What would all of these fleeing business people prefer: English speaking, beautiful city, world class entertainments, etc etc that is London, or Paris, the dog st capital of the world?
Oh, & I wager the Euro will disintegrate within 5 years or less, so why would any bank/investment house want its HQ in the Eurozone????

Where is ///ajd? Not seen him for a while, I was worried that Brexit had bitten him hard, thought he may have flown the UK and gone back to France.

But I was down the pub in Biddestone near Chippenham the other day and someone from a local BMW dealership said some moaning Brexiter had bought a new 340i Touring from them, said he had never met anyone who was so emotional about Brexit, my first thought was ///ajd.

//ajd was it you?? Have you bought a 340i??
