Look, I'll explain. The word I used was officers, that's plural and means that I was using it for more than one officer. It is implicit in the use of the plural. Yes I see. I think it's putting it mildly. I.e I wouldn't use the term aberrant to describe the behaviour of people downloading child porn.

When they are arrested by other officers as evidenced in the link.

Same with other criminals - drug dealers, thugs, wannabe gangsters - lock them up and make prison unpleasant enough to act as a deterrent. IMO.
