I miss my old one, it soaked up every track day and ring trip and never let me down, a cage with all suspension work will tighten things up nicely.

As I have the cage on order thought I would make a start on striping out the inside of the cars with the seats and carpet. I'm debating weather to take the sound deadening behind the dash board. Its not like it will take long to do, however I will be converting my 8v engine to a j4 16v in the summer, so I will do it then.

Will upload some more pictures once the car is stripped out. Cant wait to get the cage fitted. smilesmilesmilesmilesmile

You will really notice the difference when the cage goes in, I would also recommend a 106 gti arb if you can find one. What seats are going for?

I'll look into it mate. If it is worth while I'll invest in one.
Just means I can go hell for leather when the cage goes in.

I'm only going to be rocking 1 seat I don't want to take passengers round the track. Cobra Suzuka

Little saturday update.

I've managed to get the carpet out along with the underlay. Now to work out how to remove the glue which is stuck to the floor.

Will give it a hoover and tidy up before I put the seats back in. Can't wait now

Just invested in some polycarbonate windows. Thought it would give me something to fit while I wait for the cage to be delivered. Yippee

Had a little issue with the polycarbonate windows they were not in great condition as I were advised they were. As for my track car I want it look as nice as possible even though there is a change of me rolling it.

Other than the cage I have ordered a few more extra bits:

+ TRS helmet hammock
+ Harness plate with eye bolts
+ Roll cage padding
+ Carbon fibre sun roof blanking

Going to fit all this when I get the cage fitted at the beginning of April. Ill get some pictures once it arrives as we all love looking at pictures.

Got the MOT booked for the little car as of next week. Changing the exhaust over tomorrow and checking for anything the car might fail on. So hopefully as of next week I'll have a years MOT to start the track days.

I bought an Icelandic Grey VTR new in May 2003, loved it but sold it after a year - the second break-in while I'd owned it resulted in a dent in the roof and various damage to the dash and I was sick of idiots in Corsas wanting to race at every set of lights so I just traded it in and bought a new Panda. I'm starting to get an urge for another one but they seem to have all disappeared almost overnight.

Yeah I do get that but I'm glad its only a second car. Makes me laugh when people want to race on the roads, I don't entertain them.

I find it so tragic as my VTR is only 98hp from new. Just because it is striped out with a cage (for safety) people expect you to be a boy racer. Very annoying!!:@:

Still waiting on the cage to turn up hopefully only a few more weeks before the excitement starts with welding that beauty in.

Today I took delivery of my helmet hammock, padding and eye hook plates.
