Who knows.
I'd expect the police officers that did it know.

There's so little information about the matter and so many unknown variables there's not really anything to discuss.
Known facts with the benefit of hindsight:
No burglar
Door smashed in by the police

Is it standard procedure to smash first & ask questions later? You would know more about that than I.
Known facts at the time:
Suspected burglar
Door smashed in by the police

If your house were being burgled would you rather the police remain at the station thinking it's probably just the guy who lives there?

NB playing devil's advocate here - there's a big difference between ignoring a 999 call and smashing a door in without further information.

He did the intro for one of Anthony Joshua's fights and it worked well.

Obviously but unless one pipes up on here we're all in the dark.

I totally agree that there's some middle ground which could have been explored.

I'd rather the police didn't smash my door in tonight.

I must say the police battering his door down hasn't inspired me to buy it.

Oh I'm not saying buy his album. In fact the exact opposite. This is simply trying to use the police as marketing.

Well spotted. This was my first thought, even when I didn't know he had an album coming out.

The Met Police were not able to offer a reply, but you can be assured there will be plenty of gavvers on here who will happily do so smile
gavver is a p1key term for policeman (I'll just leave that there to save anyone else having to look it up).
"The Shades" was another traveller one, haven't heard that for ages.
"Shades" wasn't an exclusively Knacker term for the Gards. It was pretty much in common use in Ireland. Made me smile when you mentioned it though. Haven't heard it in years.

I wish they had when my house was being burgled (scrotes came through back window).

Stormzy on The Last Leg said he was in bed at the time.
(something in the story lead me to believe he was outside the flat at some point and this lead neighbours to believe there was a burglary)

So, something caused the neighbours to call the police, perhaps there actually was a burglary in progress?
