Please no - not that.

But, being serious for sec, it does seem that there is an unusually large contingent of those who are prone to believing conspiracies of various sorts in the "Trump" camp.

Maybe the loons really have taken over the asylum. It was bound to happen some day.
The Alt-Right as a whole seems to have quite a thing for conspiracy theories. There was a time when conspiracy theorists were a daft, but ultimately harmless, collection of old hippies, geeks and misfits. You might even enjoy a conversation with one, provided you kept them at arm's length. Now it seems the basis of a whole political movement.
Whether you mean to or not, you do realise that you are simply perpetuating the same approach that led to Trump being voted for (along with Brexit)?

You post to each other to confirm your superiority over the idiots/racists/etc principally because you disagree with an opinion or choice.

If you genuinely believe they are idiots, follow the advice about not engaging with them, as at the moment you're confirming getting dragged down to that level wink

Both extremes of both sides of these events are equally bad. You're not the middle ground of reason...

I personally have no opinion on SH. Don't know enough. I respect that PCR is openly critical of it, particularly given his distinguished background.

I am amused by your insecurity on and inability to discuss the issue. smile
Please, I'm on tenterhooks: how did Princess Diana die?
You're assuming she is dead.

She is shacked up with Elvis.
genuinely, I don't know which Diana story is the conspiracy one and which isn't.

Do you think that all opinions are equally valid - even those held from a position of ignorance or lack of knowledge?

And you also seem to think that those of us who are reasonably educated and sensible should seek to educate those who aren't.

Maybe you feel that the ignorant or the wilfully obtuse are beyond help.

I actually think they aren't - and am willing to try to help them.

It's a hard slog - but someone has to do it.

I have no idea where you get the idea I'm trying to express superiority. I've just noted that the Alt Right seems rather obsessed with and happy to believe the sort of things that were once confined to 'whack-job' sites. I didn't aim these comments at any poster or posters on here, it's a general observation. I also think it's why this new form of right-wing thinking hasn't gained much traction on a (predominantly) right-wing site like this. PHers are unlikely to align themselves with the people who think the moon landings were faked or that 9/11 was an inside job involving special effects.

True.

I didn't state that all those who voted for Trump or who support him were all conspiracy theory nuts. What I did say is that there did seem to be a disproportionate number of conspiracy enthusiasts amongst his supporters.

Not the same thing at all - but possibly too subtle for some.

Looks like the appalling GOP healthcare bill will fail. Trump and Ryan's number one pledge.

So Trump, the self styled great negotiator, even when armed with a GOP congress can't get his bill through. What a loser.

He'll just blame the GOP for not supporting him. Not his fault - drain the swamp and replace them with real men who want to get the job done.

It oozes out of every post you make on this thread chaps. There is zero objectivity or balance. None whatsoever. And your tone towards those with a counter opinion is hardly constructive.

Your call of course. You are free to express whatever opinions you want in whatever way you want. But don't be surprised when mass decisions like have happened over the last year happen. And try not to be dismissive of them. Understanding the root of them is important. Congratulating those with identical viewpoints only has so much use wink

Looks like the GOP doesn't have the votes to pass health bill and they have just recessed to decide whether to even hold the vote...

Oh dear.

The democrats much be smug tonight, even with a right wing president and congress they can't put into effect the first big proper policy.

I think Donald will let Capital Hill fight over it, getting the bad press, while he moves onto Tax matters etc, which he really is interested in. Probably a wise move. Give people more money whilst the GOP argues about the health side. He will come out looking ok and it will not get blocked.

You would see the silver lining in a mushroom cloud.

I see an impotent idiot who just failed on one of his major campaign promises because his OWN PARTY thought it was a piece of trash laugh

This governing lark not as simple as he thought shock. No doubt he'll try to turn the electorate's ire against the swamp and deflect potential criticism of any mismanagement from his side. Time for some golf...

Terribly embarrassing for the GOP, though. All this railing against Obamacare for all these years. and they can't get shot of it even with both Houses and the Executive.

More goings on in the investigation into possible connections, seems Nunes is playing to a script.
