However, it seems that people really, REALLY do not understand what fake news is.
Newspapers and journalists have to have a legitimate source but can then write an article in a cosmopolitan way to evoke an emotive response in the reader; it is why we have the Daily Mail and the Guardian. They both do the same thing from fairly opposite ends of the political spectrum.
This does not mean it is fake news. You could claim it may be misleading, but it is not necessarily fake.
Having worked for News International, I can tell you that it was never hard to offer up some money and have fake news, or extremely exaggerated news, appear from a "source".Newspapers and journalists have to have a legitimate source but can then write an article in a cosmopolitan way to evoke an emotive response in the reader; it is why we have the Daily Mail and the Guardian. Having to see tiny sections of a paper / web page dedicated to apologies based on this wasn't uncommon.
It's all about grabbing the headline, selling the most copy and worrying about the aftermath later. They have a team of lawyers on hand ready to give best and worst case scenarios regarding all manner of reports.
It's a business and the rules don't always apply when the money made from sales will far exceed any financial punishment.

You get the likes of Breitbart and Infowars (and worth making the point again that THEY THINK THE MOON LANDINGS WERE FAKED!) used by sources here but the BBC and CNN are fake news?

Or should perhaps the most powerful person in the world have some decorum at all times while speaking to the public/press?
Why? They don't.As mentioned, it's a part of the system many are clearly bored of.
The whole scenario reminds me of the movie 'The Boat That Rocked'.
Stuffy, conservative figures trying to silence something millions of others demand and enjoy.
This is Radio Trump and the more people try to sink it, the more people are questioning why.

More on military? They already out spend the test of the world combined.
Always playing to people's fears.
No worries we got your back...again, this time on U.S. military aircraft made possible with out military budget. Has it ever occured to you if other NATO countries paid their fair share we would not have to spend so much. But who is going to keep those evil ruskies at bay.Always playing to people's fears.

Doesn't suit your left wing conspiracy theory that everyone dislikes President Trump.Maybe you should get some of those reliable CNN Fake News Pollsters that were used for the election.

Blame Capricorn One, desperate attempts to win the space race and the fact the supposedly higher quality moon landing tapes were lost / taped over by NASA.That would make me ask questions, too.

The irony of saying "the US spends too much on their military" coming from a country that doesn't even have a single aircraft carrier. Nevermind not having the money to build 1 aircraft carrier, but then having the share it with the quitting French.
Without wishing to derail the conversation, aircraft carriers are quite possibly the most useless military capability you could wish to acquire in this day and age.Digby said:
