Impeachment won't come from "the people" though.

If he engages in anything potentially criminal, then the law says he must be impeached, whatever his supporters think.

So far, in less than 60 days he has already sailed close to the wind - and may even have crossed the line in regards to some of his assertions or the behaviour of some of his team.

I have never seen a President launch off the pad in such an erratic and wild manner. It's as if he has started a job without knowing the first thing about the basic requirements of the position.
Judging by the behaviour of past presidents who didn't get impeached, I suspect he has some way to go yet. But that can, of course, change in an instant.
Probably because they were prepared to cut some slack when it came to other White House incumbents - as much to do with respect for the position as anything else. Trump has pissed off so many influential people and institutions that he has a trail of enemies lining up to bring him down at the earliest opportunity. You reap what you sow.

On the Spicer/GCHQ debacle, it's now being said that

- Spicer spoke unintentionally (How does one even do that? "The words, they come out of my mouth, you see, but I don't intend them to. I intend other words to come out. Or not words. I need to work on control of my mouth I suppose"

- Spicer was simply pointing to what the press reports were, not endorsing them. Really? That's the job of the WH Press Sec now? To read out bits of the internet?

Spicer seems to be a *major* problem, on account of being a bit thick, having a big mouth, and talking without thinking a lot. What really puzzles me is why he hasn't been fired. He is consistently more harmful than beneficial for the administration so why is he still around?
Spicer is saying what he's been told to say. They're not firing him because he's the disconnect between the admin and press the admin need.
They can blame him, as they appear to have done here, when things go wrong.

Interesting aside on "The West Wing", one of the most vociferous critics of Trump and his team is journalist Lawerence O'Donnell - who actually worked as a script writer for many episodes of "The West Wing".
On the subject of fictional White Houses, I bet the script writers for House of Cards tore up the early scripts and storylines for Season 5 as "no longer crazy enough".

Rassmussen usually report higher support figures for Trump than the other major pollsters. I don't know why, but they do.

Lawrence hates Trump. He has the 10pm slot on MSNBC after Maddow and often references his days on the West Wing. Like a lot of political journalists he has great respect for the office of the President and it disgusts him to see the mockery that Trump is making of it.

After last year I pay scant regard to all the polls. If you actually talk to real people you hear a lot of buyers remorse and embarrassment.

The fact you can post anything about US politics on this website with a straight face is quite remarkable.

Trump's budget makes perfect sense

That could have been cobbled together from one of 5watt's posts and it will be lapped up by Trump supporters.

Or clumsy is the new truthful, once it's out there they can plead ignorance and apologise as much as they like, point made.

After the Snowden revelations would it really surprise anyone?
And there are people like Scherz who fall for this st. "Trump hasn't lied, it's the people around him".

I think what we got sorted was that your glib implication about the ban and tourism wasn't really thought through! smile

All over the polls like a rash last year weren't you? Couldn't get enough. You abusive old rotter! I love the way you have swanned back in here like nothing happened, barring the biggest internet flounce that I have ever seen, alongside colossal abuse, racism, voyeurism and hysterics by yourself, it was fabulous.

How so? You're not not going because of the ban. Lots of other people are likely not not going for the same reason smile

There has been a significant decline in tourism to the US according to the Boston Globe and others. Sources in the industry are saying that Trump's immigration policies, even though they have failed in their "objective" so far, have been as damaging to the sector as 9/11.

Did you hear him deny ever claiming that he was wiretapped? Apparently it was one of the finest legal minds who said that and the press should speak to HIM, not Trump.

The man makes an 80 year old man's scrotum look dignified.

ETA He's an embarrassment to the US. He really is.

The first few pages of the second volume of the presidential election threads will do you, gross levels of abuse, hysterics, the lot. He was personally racist against me, assuming that I was Scottish (wrong), those comments were deleted sadly.

Hahahaha the specifics were something other, although I do appreciate that being labelled as such a beast could be distressing jester
