We are well in to the second year of the coverage, on PH, of this debacle. The stridency and apparent level of confidence in statements, assessments and predictions made on this thread remains high, whereas the accuracy, as measured by what has actually taken place, remains low.
Good summary of scherzkeks' posts.

As for the Russian stuff, I see little point in speculating about the detail. Let's just watch and see what comes out.

He really is incapable of leaving things alone isn't he.

How can someone not be SCREAMING at him to not tweet about this!?

Actually the probably are and he ignores them.

I presume that many of those reading this thread have noticed a mob has arranged itself to 'tackle' scherzkeks. The mob should be grateful, otherwise their resonant witterings would become deafening - even to them.
If by 'tackle' you mean point out the lunacy of some of his posts, I don't think any 'mob has arranged itself'. it's simply the natural reaction to some of his more outlandish comments ( I notice he still hasn't confirmed whether he thinks the Sandy Hook shooting actually happened or not).

The trouble is that the pro trump posters apparently can't behave reasonably, and keep getting banned. It leaves this thread sounding a bit like an echo chamber or a mob against the few trump supporters left.

It's only one sided as one side are largely all banned.

Plus the fact that it's hard to explain or justify some of trumps behaviour.

I'm sure he's delighted to have your solid support.

Your contributions don't appear to be adding any value. They amount to no more than sniping.

Cringe. That's really bad.

"No more than sniping", you say?

I disagree; I say it's an observation as equal in value, if not higher, than many you have formulated, particularly this one.
You prove my point.

Flynn's letters been posted
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/02/13/politics/michael...

It rather suggests he thinks he's done nothing wrong and doesn't suggest he has any story to tell.

I'm not sure what else you'd expect from a resignation letter.

Things have moved on and now it seems he is seeking immunity from prosecution in return for cooperation with the FBI.

Getting back to the actual thread topic, rather than attacks on posters..

What is your opinion on Mike Flynn? Do you think he's done something which means he requires immunity?

A retired generals salary isn't enough to live on. He needed $70,000 extra from russian interests?

Surprise, surprise.

Trump’s tweet came shortly after a segment on Fox & Friends in which Fox analyst Tony Shaffer said that Flynn would be wise to seek immunity to prevent getting charged with a crime as part of Washington, D.C. “blood sport.”

“In this town, going after people is a blood sport,” Shaffer said during the segment. “Mike Flynn would be stupid to not figure out a path forward regarding the circumstance of who he talks to… regarding the issue.”

Who says the "mob" is ungrateful? I, for one, enjoy comic entertainment from time to time. I also find it interesting to see just how differently the same source material can be read.

Rather than being the Joker's white knight, why not attempt to provide some balanced, reasonable and rational defence of what Trump does?

He's had conversations by phone (monitored and leaked) which were likely not appropriate for him to have prior to be taking office, but that doesn't seem to be an indictable action. Which makes me thing that the immunity he seeks could be for something unrelated to the FBI investigation he's apparently going to testify upon. Or, this could be more games sending the conversation off to this exact analysis.
I wonder how he now feels about this:

Mike Flynn said:
Revelations (that Clinton aides) were granted immunity from prosecution in Hillary Clinton’s email scandal shows this was without a doubt a criminal scheme
Let's wait and see what comes of this. It could be nothing. It could be something significant.

It's not that I reject all uses of name-calling and condescension, it's just that in your output, it tends be overused and formulaic.

It's what the thread is for.

I would guess that over 50% of this thread is taken up with posters criticising each other.

I wish they wouldn't and just discuss the core topic.

I don't think any of his behaviour can be "justified" but it can all be explained if you look at it from Trump's past behaviour.

As i said previously i think the man is a sac of congealed cockcheese, however throughout his business and political life

1. He has behaved in a certain (arguably vile and despicable) way
2. He has "won" [by "win" I mean garner wholescale adulation and worship]
3. Why should he change?

For him, a successful term as POTUS won't be defined by the number of jobs created, or improvements in living standards. or America consolidating it's postion as World Leader. It will be defined by the number of people he can convince that HUGE NUMBER OF JOBS have bene created, and that we have GREAT HEALTHCARE, GREAT, THE BEST! etc etc

Do you remember the campaign? Everything, absolutely everything was a COMPLETE DISASTER. Jobs, the economy, immigration, foreign policy, WORST EVER!!!

Now any sane person with a Casio FX82 could have proven that it was all bulst, but it worked!! And the exact same rhetoric will work throughout his tenure.
