Hi All, has anyone here had their 6L80E remapped? If so, is it the Walkinshaw or Wortec version you're running?
Even better, has anyone actually compared the two side by side and is there a great difference?
I see Walkinshaw is £399 and Wortec £479.95 and would be interested to hear your comments.
Monkfish are closer to me but if there's nothing in it, £80 in the tank and a jolly old drive is enjoyable too biggrin

I had mine done by walkinshaws, 4 yrs ago when i first purchased the car... well 2 months afterwards.
the gear changes and selections were crap, to say the least, in traffic it couldnt make its mind up which gear it wanted. been happy with it since the recalibration, on the auto, its a must in my opinion

I'm happy with the wortec map and I'm based in Farnham if that's close enough for you to come and take a drive. Unfortunately I don't have any experience with the Walky map so can't help with the direct comparison.

Thanks gents, good to see you're both happy with your purchases. It's great to hear a happy verdict from each version.
Janosh, thanks for the offer, I'll drop you a line over the next couple of days and see if we can possibly arrange a meet.

I've had both on my car at various points due to issues i've had with the gearbox and I was quite happy with both. Monkfish say the wortec map behaves more like a lazy v8 in standard mode and livens up more in sport. Perhaps I don't drive sufficiently like a hooligan to notice but I cannot say I have noticed a huge difference.

I had the monkish re-map done on my R8 auto a number of years ago now, didn't seem to make £400's worth of difference to me - still drops into 1st for no reason whatsoever when you're going round a slow corner!

+1 Sports mode is great. Ive not touched anything and cant think of anything to change...

Well except making normal mode the same as sport and making sport more agressive that is.

But for the most part its good. Especially when it goes into the enhanced mode. PAS or whatever it is called.

I just drive the wifes VXR8 in manual mode when I want more fun. Took a little practice but once I worked the best changes / rpm out it is great. I did originally think about a remap.

Normal= happy lazy drive. Super stuck in traffic mode
Sport = At least I can pull away quicker now
Manual= wife saying why is my car making that noise and can you slow down a bit please. " no please its not funny now is it"
