NP&E Economic & Social Spectrum

What that means about me is:
I think I'm probably the same as you as I agree with your statements.- I believe that people ultimately should look after themselves but it's not perfect so a limited social state is required (makes me economically a bit left of centre)
- People should fundamentally be free if what they believe in doesn't harm anyone, i.e. gay marriage, religion, etc (makes me libertarian)
I'm a bit of an odd mix as well. I think criminals should be lined up and shot, people should look after themselves and generous benefits should be slashed, social housing should be cut, capitalism should be unrestricted, I believe in free market etc.
Yet I completely support gay marriage, LGBT rights, immigration, abortion, the de-classification of drugs, multiculturalism, and all that kind of jazz. People should be free to do pretty much whatever they want as long as it doesn't hurt others.

I take it this means I have to go to some kind of re-education camp

You sir are the problem. I take it this means I have to go to some kind of re-education camp
This is very interesting.
My own results are below.
One reason why we are mainly ending up as lefties is probably because it is referencing against a US cohort...i.e. our right wing is still their left wing.
More importantly, in my view, this lays bare the UK liberal's (small "L") misconception that people who vote Tory or Leave are right wing nutters. In fact we have balanced and principled beliefs of our own which are balanced in a wider context.
While it's a bit more telling than a simple left-right spectrum it still relies on categorising opinions on a very broad basis.
For example disagreeing strongly with the statement that "What's good for the most successful corporations is always, ultimately, good for all of us" doesn't necessarily mean you are less economically liberal than someone who does agree with it.
I think we will really be getting somewhere when we accept that people's that people's political outlooks are too nuanced and diverse to be boiled down to a simple visual representation with any accuracy at all, and that it's better to take each issue on its merits than to attempt to divide people into political clans across a broad range of unrelated issues.
another gandhi here.
Just proves how wrong these lunatics are describing people like me as racist etc which i find thoroughly insulting tbh. interesting to see how many others are in the same region as well.
Thinking about it id describe that bit as being a fair and reasonable person.
