There is really something wrong with this survey

I mean seriously - has anyone posted up a profile result that would be representative of NP&E

oh dear,..

So the statement that NP&E was akin to a Munich Beer Celllar appear to be somewhat far from the truth. It is in fact a hive of lefty, tree huggers.

For shame Pistonheads, for shame!

What a load of rubbish! Apparently I'm a slightly right of centre Libertarian, which appears to be based on the fact that I mildly disagree with the notion of global multinationals being able to discharge toxic waste into my bedroom if it improves their profit margins!

I'm prepared to accept its conclusions that there is no political party in the UK which reflects my views, but I draw the line against the notion that I'm to the left of Ed Milliband's Labour Party!!

No surprise here: maybe I'm reading too much "fake" news?

Same as most then - but I see myself as more moderate/towards the centre than the majority on here who appear vastly more to the right. The capitalist type questions are a bit left biased perhaps.

Almost bang in the middle, however if the situation calls for it I feel I'd likely lean further to the right.
Naturally that test isn't completely accurate, there's a huge number of topics that could be covered more in depth to really ascertain your correct point on that graph.

For comparison this is what my results were when asked the same question on PH 11 years ago.

Ahhh right so that's what happens when you spend 11 years on PH.........

Or is it just what happens when you age 11 years?

Interesting really - from what gets said here you wouldn't expect the majority of members to be left of centre libertarians.

It's a strange one. I commented on the 11 year old thread that I always thought I was more to the right than the compass showed. Might be a difference between ticking agree / strongly agree and disagree / strongly disagree. I am pretty sure that's why I show as being more libertarian than 11 years ago comes from.

Your Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -0.63
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.79

I wonder if they have updated it as it seems to have less leading questions than before.

There are of course a few issues. There isn't a true "trade off" between unemployment and inflation in the long term as one example.

There also aren't enough questions that truly measure social libertarianism vs authoritarianism. I came out as overall socially libertarian due to the the fact I am an atheist who believes in sexual freedom and drug decriminalisation.

Probably designed for an American context and so less good at measuring UK political divides.
