Probably worrying about nothing (i hope).
Just bought a car from a ford independant dealer, it was the managers own car (proven by v5 etc), i transferred the cash to the garage itself via bank transfer and the manager wrote me a letter to state he will settle the finance (letter had my name, his, car reg, amount i paid and finance owing) and forward me a copy once he receives a letter.
The original plan was to watch him settle the finance on screen but i got sidetracked and didnt ask to see it happen in person so now im a bit concerned he could just not pay, very unlikely i know but i worry about a lot lol.

I'd be reassured that you paid the garage, rather than the manager personally, and not worry about it unduly. Give it a couple of days.
Yeh i think its because i didnt get an invoice as such as i paid before going down, just a letter from himself about the finance, but i paid the garage.
more than likely worrying about nothing. If your concerned then HPi it and check what type of finance it is. The chances are its on stocking finance but HPi should show that. It should really be settled before collection but we occasionally had a car viewed and collected on the same day and it wasn't always possible to request and settle the finance before hand.
