Good romantic restaurant in London
Discussion
Hey all. It has been pointed out that in a month it is my 5 year anniversary with the girlfriend. I'd like to book a nice romantic tests in London for the evening.
I've taken her to Clos Magiore before and would like to try somewhere else.
Recommendations?
Cuisine wise, aside from no seafood or fish, I'm easy, atmosphere is more important.

Any of the Gordon Ramsey restaurants
For romantic, Royal Hospital Road is head and shoulders above the others. And I would definitely recommend this (my OH loves it).Zaffranos is nice.
Nobu or Hakassan (nice and dimly lit ) if she likes oriental food.
Word of warning - I now have little kids so haven't been to any of them for a few years now!!
(Or you could always take her up the....)

Something a little bit different?
Dans Le noir

Dining in absolute darkness, being hosted and served by the visually impaired, will change your perspective of the world by inverting your point of view. It is a sensory experience that awakes your senses and enables you to completely re-evaluate your perception of taste and smell.

Dans Le Noir is st.
Atmosphere is st.
Food is st.
They 100% trade off the novelty factor and I'd never go again. You spend the time feeling around your plate to see if there's any food there and you leave wondering if you're wearing it.
Don't bother.
It's the same with tepanyaki restaurants. I don't get why people like them. It's overpriced egg fried rice, served in different shapes by some irritating noob with a spatula. Most things novelty are crap, just like novelty ties.Atmosphere is st.

If it's romantic you want then there's only really one choice.
Clos Maggiore near Covent Garden.
Taken the wife a few teams and everytime has been a winner.
But make sure you ask to be seated in the courtyard!Clos Maggiore near Covent Garden.

One of my other favourites is Wild Honey in Mayfair. 1 Michelin star but (relatively) reasonably priced. I like the fact that there's no music, service is attentive but unobstrusive, and it's not showy at all (unlike Nobu, Hakkasan etc.). Clientele is also slightly older and dignified, not full of old guys with 20yo hookers like the places mentioned above. And food is good!
Or if it's more of a "I want to rip your clothes off and do you on the table" kind of romantic night, I'd suggest Bodega Negra on Old Compton St. The entrance will get juices flowing
