Oh I completely agree Digga, as I say I'm a huge fan and I have great admiration for him. I suppose the way I'd describe it is that if I was standing in a pub, listening to someone next to me talk in the way he does in his written anecdotes I'd be thinking "Christ mate you are coming across as a right idiot".

That surprised me, before I read the book I didn't expect him to be like that, don't know why, I was obviously projecting my own presuppositions onto him which is my failing.

Of course I'm sure he would have considered me a right idiot too!

I used to do quite a lot of scary stuff like this, but watching that video ,I genuinely felt my testicles withdrawing inside my body. Can't remember that happening when doing that sort of stuff in real life. Maybe it's old age?
