Just wondering if anyone on here is running one of these and doing fairly serious annual mileage.

I'm moving jobs and I have a suspicion that a 2006 MX5 will not be tolerated on the car allowance scheme whereas it is at my current place. While pondering what my choices are a 2014 ST with this kit on would seem to tick all my boxes and come in at a budget I would be happy with.

I do less miles than you, roughly 20k ish pa. I am also thinking about going for a fiesta st ( or bmw 320d) i know the fiesta will be more fun. But will it be much fun sat in traffic on the m6!

Completely depends on how you cover those 30k miles and the gearing in a ST....

I've never driven one but have driven a similar car the Mini Cooper S.

My Dad has a Cooper S Roadster as his fun run around and tbh on the motorway gearing isn't the issue it's the sensitive steering. I've borrowed his car from time to time and driven my 80 mile commute sitting 50% at 70mph and tbh it's quite good fun but the issue is that it never settles and is always on its toes which gets on my nerves.

Best off heading over to fiestastoc for an opinion on the MR230, although I've never heard a bad word about them. Did you consider the tamer but warranty friendly mp215?

I'd go MP215 initially, maybe even find a car with it already fitted. MR230 would be added later. I suspect with my budget I'll be looking at 2014 cars which are out of warranty anyway.

Cheers for the tips.
