So a blind man is tasered because the highly trained armed response officers thought his cane was a gun.
Someone is getting fired!

This is the Police we are talking about. No one ever gets fired. "Lessons will be learned" and officer will have promotion in a few years.

Hope someone was wearing a body-cam for this. How do you get close enough to taser but not see it's a blind man with a cane?

It doesn't sound too clever (a bit like the one in 2012).

I don't think armed response officers in Manchester wear body-cams.

"GMP start issuing body cameras to 3,000 police officers".......

".....Neither PCSOs nor police marksmen will get the so-called ‘body-worn video’ cameras - although they could in the future......"

They saw what they expected to see, not what they were actually looking at.

It'll be interesting to see how the usual suspects on here will spin this one.

Is there a risk of violence?

Is there a risk of escape?

The officer involved needs to go on a 'thinking skills' course?

Its very odd.

Why did someone call the police for a blind bloke, why were armed officers sent or was it a routine patrol?

Maybe they play Taser Bingo-
1 point for a black man
2 pts for a tramp
........
........
8 pts for a Nun
9 pts for a Blind man
10 pts for a disabled child

La Liga can possibly confirm if this actually happens?? smile

I think it needs to have an element of flammability to score a 10.
