EU prepared to cut off free speech...
Discussion
Slightly O/T , but in a similar vein, did not some dictatorial nutters not make efforts to have criticism of the global warming scam a criminal offence? ie, saying its nonsense, and your in the dock.
I'm trying to wrack my brains, but its within the past year, and California comes to mind. Ring any bells to anyone?

So they've updated the rules to reflect how they think their system is being used/abused.
I don't think Farage actually turns up for work enough for it to affect him.
But these are elected MEP's. I don't think Farage actually turns up for work enough for it to affect him.
If some far right Austrian MEP wants to rant about Jews or Migrants then let him or her get on with it. Set out rules and if he crosses the line then punish him or her accordingly, and leave the video on to allow the public to castigate him and the opposition to condone him.
Turning off the broadcast is only going to bring more notoriety to the individual, and make people seek him out on other platforms.
Popularity won't be spread by notoriety either.

We are not talking about the bloke on the street speaking...Popularity won't be spread by notoriety either.
The House of Commons has 'Parliamentary Privelage' for MPs to say anything they want within it, you appear to want this changed... do you work for Trafigura?

It's so unfair that our elected officials aren't allowed to have their racist outbursts broadcast. Sad!
Instead those racists may now be able to hide behind a curtain of censorship with their views hidden from critical reply.Better than a pretence even one orchestrated by EU drones, who are hardly paragons of anything.

You are joking I take it? They can't even mention each other by name or accuse a member of lying without running the risk of getting barred. The House of Commons has 'Parliamentary Privelage' for MPs to say anything they want within it, you appear to want this changed... do you work for Trafigura?

Trump wants the opposite of a free press, he wants tame journalists who'll just report whatever he says as if it's fact. Do you know what they call that? I'll give you a clue, it starts with a P.
That's exactly the situation which existed under the Obama administration - he had a nice cushy relationship with the mainstream media. Lots of exclusive tidbits for media outlets that played the game and very little objectivity with respect to reporting.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
