Not satisfied with being given enough rope, he's now tying the slip knot himself. His big gesture has failed and he's despairing over the lack of sympathetic coverage he received. Typical of the scoundrel, now turning to faux patriotism as a last refuge. Yawn.

Seems to have lost sight of reality and the meaning of the term democracy. Sad really.

He's lost the bloody plot!

If I never heard another word from Remoaning Heseltine again - or the money-swilling Branson, or the Bliar creature, or Mandelswine, or the Miller telling her tale, or Tim Dum Farron, or Cleggyclogs, or the Kinncocks...

it would be too soon.

Yup, giving everything up to the EU was the same as handing victory to Germany, many years after the Nazis were defeated in World War II...

Oh...

Has to be.

IF there was any parallel to be drawn it only works the other feckin way round. The man is either unwell or a tool.

Indeed, I. rey much suspect that to be the situation for him, and yet he will be allowed to pontificate in the House of Lords until nature has its way.

I don't believe these things to be mutually exclusive.

I recently read a book on defending the Atlantic wall written by the German soldiers who manned it. Surprisingly many of them believed that they were doing a good thing by `unifying' Europe under one leader. If Heseltines comments are to be believed, it seems he would have been working for Mr H on the inside of the Atlantic wall.

He's got a point. Leaving is a defeatist and cowardly action which is quite uncharacteristic of this great country.

Other nations can only dream of having the influence we do at the top table in Europe. We're throwing that away.

I was about to post the same thing, but it just shows that he has done no research into the UK`s relationship with the EEC/EU, or he lives in a world where he can imagine into being, his own facts about the EEC/EU....and then disturbingly actually believe they are real smile

Yes. This country doesn't normally do running away from the big boys and hiding when the going gets a bit tough. At least its good to know 48% of the population have stronger characters than that.

Fair play, I couldn't disagree with you more strongly, but each are entitled to express thier POV.

I prefer to see the UK leaving a sinking ship which is stuffed full with idealistic beaurocratic suits, most of whom are so removed from the reality of the real World and consequences of thier actions it's incredible the project has lasted as long as it has.

Please provide evidence of this 'influence'.

How many EU decisions have we been able to change with our enormous voting power there at the "top table".
