Please provide evidence of this 'influence'.

How many EU decisions have we been able to change with our enormous voting power there at the "top table".
have we had any real influence since Thatcher as Blair seemed happy to give as much of our powers as possible to the EU.

And why did he do that?

1 - build a fairer Europe
2 - gain influence at the top table
3 - reverse the unfair deal that Thatcher got

or 4.

At your age, you can still run ten yards?

Heseltine is, I'm afraid to say, too old and too out of touch to have a voice imho. The government and the relationship with the EU in the 50's, 60's etc. was still based on the back end of a world war, and when you have the memory of war the decisions you make are very different, a closer EU back then was as much about stopping more wars, we are in a very different time now.

His comments seem dated and offensive imho.

The EU didn't come into being until the Maastricht treaty in 1992. That's when I started getting a bit antsy about the direction we were being taken, and that was that treacherous b stard Major.

If it's the same model of Zimmer I have it will have wheels and go-faster stripes, a fast walking pace soon develops into a run, that's what the Tena pads are for wink

Indeed, he's the one that should be lambasted more than any for signing away our sovereignty without a thought, the , yet the media flock when he appears from the shadows. He is just as bad as Blair IMO.

Would this be the same Heseltine who wanted to join the euro?

He still has hopes of us joining the Euro.

“Despite the resignation of most other Europhile MPs to the fact that Brexit now appears inevitable, the former Conservative Deputy Prime Minister, said he believed the UK will one day adopt the Euro “when the time is right”.”

When hell freezes over perchance?

I have a hard time understanding the remainer point of view and subsequent hysterical squealing from them, if they dont like what the majority voted for why dont they just clear off and live in europe?

Itd be quieter and far more peaceful here without their constant whining.
