Good question, Since the EU have never had their accounts signed off (there is a surprise!), how are `they' going to be able to show who, has paid what in a way that the UK can believe.
All the UK has on record is what it has paid into EU coffers, and what small amounts of the UK`s own money has been received back from Brussels. Where all the rest of the cash the UK has paid into EU coffers has gone is anyone's guess.
https://fullfact.org/europe/did-auditors-sign-eu-budget/

So what does all this say about the EU’s accounts? The numbers accurately reflect what’s actually happened, it’s just that some of it shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

So it isn't anyone's guess-the EU knows where the money went.
Not that it matters much now, as the UK is leaving the EU. The bottom line is that its second largest net contributor of funds into EU coffers, and its biggest single market, is in the process of walking away.

There are serious and divisive risks to our country if we continue to have political parties voted into power on a minority of the vote.
As opposed to PR systems where you end up with genuinely abhorrent people like Wilders, and the other facist politicians on the continent either threatening power or sharing in it. One of the positive side effects of our system is that it has shut out extremist groups like the BNP, Socialist Worker etc.
Personally I find the extremist argument to be a bit of a straw man - as it shows a complete lack of faith in the British electorate - neither the BNP or any extreme left wing part have ever received anything like enough votes in a general election to cause such a scenario.

The fact still remains that Conservative & Labour parties have been elected into power on 30+%ish of the vote (and to make it sound even worse 25%ish of the possible actual electorate) - and the parties of what might be deemed 'acceptable' political views (ie Lib Dems/UKIP/Greens) are under represented in Parliament.

I still have trouble in seeing how any reasonable person can see this is a morally right situation. It is not good for our democracy for this to continue - parliament provides the vent for peoples opinions and views - and for those opinions not be heard is divisive.

Just playing devils advocate. Should be remembered however that the National Front polled close on 20% at their peak in a local election. I have always been a believer in making the 2nd house an elected chamber and would prefer to that be PR based. The parties could pick from lists of people including much of the existing Lords if they wish as the Lords at least are supposed to represent a collection of people honoured for their services to this country. None of the mainstream parties will ever agree to that though or anything which looks like a house with democratic legitimacy as that would threaten their own power.

To a certain degree that is what happened with the Liberal Democrat House of Lords Reform Bill back in the coalition days ...

Yes and when the s ask for more to sweeten the deal tell them to fk off ,We have contributed more than we should , look at your audited accounts
and sort out our refund first....
It would be a conversation killer when our negotiating team say" we agree we must compensate the EU for leaving now just handover the Audited Accounts so we can agree on a figure".

Agreed. The whole history around that bill should give all of us pause for thought when it comes to trusting politicians.

Think I might just be asking to do our own Audit of any information supplied by the EU.

So much to celebrate and celebration season is fast approaching.

Anyone have any plans either for this year or on going? And when?

June 23rd to celebrate the referendum?

The day Article 50 notice is given?

The day we finally complete negotiations?

Nigel Farage's birthday?

All of the above?
All of the above
