I know that many of the Westminster MP's from all parties can be pretty useless, but the SNP lot are absolutely incompetent and out of their depth. The chances of them getting anywhere near the sort of salaries they currently get are pretty minimal, so of course they toe the party line.

This is exactly it. They are a band of useful idiots in the true sense of the phrase.

I've mentioned the bold George Laird a few times in these threads (his blog is worth reading despite the lack of proofreading on occasions). He states repeatedly that the SNP's current strength and what will be its ultimate downfall is the poor quality of people that represent it. They are easily regimented but aren't particularly intelligent. This he knows from having been a member and then left the party because there was no debate or alternative viewpoints allowed to be discussed at any party meetings at any level, which seemed strange to him as an active politician.

My local ex-SNP councillor recently resigned, citing similar dissatisfaction.

(PS. It was George Laird who was the architect of the SNP's single police force policy, but he left before it was implemented as they were ignoring his advice on keeping autonomous local offices in remote areas to (a) maintain response time and (b) avoid the service losing its VAT exempt status.)

Worth a read, highly objective critique of Sturgeons speech.
Chilling.

You know what I would like to see, just one of the SNP MSPs have a crisis of conscience and abstain/resign over the vote today. Surely one of them must realise that now is not the time and everything the party leader says isn't right.
But, the glorious leader knows all!

I would suspect a P45 to be winging for Scotland right to them.
Likewise, it would be refreshing if a Labour MSP, voted with their conscience, I'm looking at you Mr Rowley

At least he is being honourable in not breaking the mandate granted him by his voters, unlike some.

The man isn't even smart enough to attempt plausible deniability. He states his party's manifesto position and then states that they had a meeting as a party (after they had secured 6 seats on the back of the votes 13,172 who took them at their word) and made a decision to ignore their stated position.

I guess when you are a fringe party with no hope of ever leading a government you can afford to treat your supporters with such blatant contempt, just for the sake of eating some of the scraps from the top table.

The irony is even the Conservatives go out of their way to avoid willfully renaging on manifesto pledges these days. The SNP and the Greens are morphing into the very thing they claim to despise.

The fact you appear to have missed me calling them idiotic trolls says more about your bias and projection, but hey ho
