Why not? With the ultras hoping to run amok maybe London should just be done with the whole thing*

  • I actually suspect that London is so deeply international already that it will continue to thrive despite the inevitable obstacles being lobbed at it from elsewhere.

why can’t we have a well-overdue debate about London becoming more autonomous and independent from the rest of the country?
Before it becomes independent from rUK, can it feed itself? Provide its own power? Provide its own water?
The arrogance of little Londoners is impressive.

personally don't have a problem with that ,if that is what the people of london want. a colder version of monaco possibly smile.hell they could have their own grand prix and everything. the rest of us peasants could earn a crust by selling them goods and services at even more highly inflated prices than we currently do .

Good idea. Place a Brexit charge on any little quitler trying to enter the M25 and see how they survive without the tax take from the city.

Will take years to play out but the break up of the UK as a result of Brexit looks inevitable.

Can we introduce a visa charge on any Londoner coming to the west country in that case?

Maybe only triggered by having children with a name on a predetermined list, something like Ludo, or Oscar?

He can't.
He read his job description wrong.
He thought it said 'You'll be editorial',
but it said 'You'll be 'edin off to ere'.

He's going to be stood outside Baker Street, yelling 'Eeeevnin Standud!'

Lammy said: 'Let's not forget the 60% of Londoners that voted Remain.'

In that case, what about not forgetting the the 40% of Londoners who voted to Leave the EU.

Wonder what Lammy would tell them?

Probably something ironic like 'Hard luck, that's democracy for you.'

Yes, getting over a bug thanks for asking.

The sweaties want out, Northern Ireland don't want a hard border and increasing talk there of a referendum and London making noises for independance. As a born and bred Londoner its something to consider if Brexit means my city suffers.

That will leave parts of England and wales tied together, ever more irrelevant. Would Brum become the capital city of Cymru-Anglia?

I love this.

So an ardent supporter of the EU and remain who has previously said we can expect a really harsh deal from the larger EU even though we contribute masses of cash.... thinks that London would get a great deal from the rest of the UK because they contribute so much money.

Not sure what the cost of diverting the Thames around Marlow is but I'm sure it'd be worth it!

In all seriousness - its amazing that someone who enthuses so much about EU union can't see the benefits of a UK. Teddies seem to be flying out of Westminster & Holyrood prams...
