What are Rok-straps like? Any good? Any downsides, apart from price, compared to bungees? What size is best?

Tips for securing a large drybag securely would be welcome!

Do a search for something called Slidetite, it's a chappy name but they're several different designs of clever plastic hooks to secure rope or plain bungee cord to things or to itself.

I've always used a cargo-net, so long as you have somewhere to hook the bungee cords to.

This sort of thing holds most stuff. Can't go wrong for less than £4.

Work well. Short stretchy section and a clip buckle means you can tighten them easily without having to strain to hook it on, and undo the clip tog et it off. No hooks on the end to scratch anything either.

I use a cargo net and rok straps just because I have both and it's sometimes useful to be able to tuck other stuff in the cargo net.

Never had a problem just using a cargo net though, got the Rok straps for free so may as well use them.

only thing with bungees is they can allow the bag to move about if insufficiently sturdy/tight.

I use some of that perforated sticky mat stuff which protects your paintwork and helps control the movement of the pack, tied down with some 5 or 6mm cord tightened with a truckers hitch (useful knot to know if you find yourself on a ferry without straps and get thrown a rope by the staff to tie your bike down with). My pack has loops to allow it to be tightly tied down.

Rob straps are brilliant, no way I would go back to using bungees

Rok straps for me too! Superb product, I've recently moved from the smaller yellow ended ones to the longer, wider black ended ones to accommodate any larger bags but cannot fault them. They also seem a very simple, safe and secure option.

I bought some rubber silicone straps from costco a few years ago. been great for on the bike and kit car over the years and look like these.
Worth looking for as they are not expensive, easy to use and don't damage bodywork
