The stories of the people who died or who were seriously injured yesterday are so sad I can not imagine how their families and loved ones are coping.
The Commons did the right thing today by getting on with life as most people had to today.

I was really, really hoping that they would not give out the terrorist name. I was hoping the British Police and Government had reached a turning point whereby not giving out his name would steel away his so called Martyrdom would be in tatters.
Sadly the media will continue to milk this now frown
Media abhors a vacuum - people were confirming that the terrorist was a guy who was in prison before the real name was released. Not giving out the name would have caused a lot of similar things to happen.

Sky News paper review suggest Katie Hopkins has been blathering BS and talking hoseplop. Again. What an odious phenomenon she is. I wish people would stop consuming her outbursts so she would just unexist.

Terribly sad that a fifth person has died but as more stories reveal themselves of everyday heroism and selflessness one is reminded that in the real world there are plenty of "good" people out there.

Identity issues. Always a red flag when I see people changing their names, coming out, changing religion or even coming up with a trendy spelling of their first names. Not comfortable in their own skin.

He was British, technically, legally, but did he feel British? did he feel he fitted in as British, or felt content to identify as British? I doubt it, and perhaps his actions show he wasnt.

This is getting a bit surreal. If I've got it right :

He was born in Kent as Adrian Elms.

Found God through Islam.

Became offended by Western foreign policy and alienated by Islamophobia.

He killed people.

It's nothing to do with his religion.

Yep, she's been on Fox News telling Americans that everyone is scared..
It's not gone down well - James Cleverly, for one has told her exactly what he thinks.. (http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/782952/Westminster-terror-attack-Katie-Hopkins-outrage-Fox-News-London-disunited-response ). Poor guy was only just keeping it together today in the House talking about his friend and former army colleague, the late police officer.

A less polite response from Al Murray here http://m.huffpost.com/uk/entry/uk_58d39945e4b0f838...

The modern world seems to have carved out a lucrative niche for attention seeking bullstters prepared to knowingly spout horseplop for the consumption of idiots. Proprietors simply chasing numbers couldn't give a fig. It's very disappointing. With luck a few more law suits will see her disappear into bankruptcy and obscurity. Honestly, how does she sleep at night?

So you think lock anyone up who is being investigated? What if that was you even if you hadn't done anything?

I assume if he was investigated and wasn't charged, that again, until yesterday he hadn't done anything terrorism wise?
Yes. Anyone investigated for terrorism should be detained until it is determined they are not a threat - only my opinion. Not that of my employer etc rolleyes
Hello, is that the anti-terrorism investigation line. I've heard that Mr bmw535i looks a bit like a terrorist. And well since I'm an associate of his and I dont want to get deported if he is, I need to report him just in case. Oh, a bit of a back log? Ah well I'm sure you'll catch up and release him sooner or later if he's not a threat. No I'm sure he'll understand and not want compensation...

That's odd - you've only been here for a month. A 'long time', you say?

Yes. In case you haven't realised, you don't need to be a member to read the various forums.

entire middle east and africa (save for the few slots of land which are completely drugged on oil money) is pretty much a sthole.

draw your own conclusions as to why that is. Cursed land?

Worry not though, with the rampant population growth in afrian countries, a cool 100 million are gonna wake up one morning and figure they fancy europe, at which point it will inevitably look v. similar here...
Spent a lot of time in the Middle East, have you? rofl

While I wouldn't read too much into the picture of the woman in the headscarf, she certainly doesn't look to be cowering in fear of an Islamophobic backlash.

How can you not think that is mental?!

They investigate thousands of people every year. Literally thousands. Lock them all up? You must be on a wind up.
Are you trying to make me alter my point of view? Just ignore it and move on

It's already surpassed it's target but maybe a few of you will want to pay your respects in this manner, nobody should lose their life doing their job and I am pleased to donate.
This is great, but what about the other victims? They have families too.
Or the many other officers that were murdered on duty. It's a nice gesture, but many other officers have also had horrible deaths without such a response. Probably not a popular post.

Nice little earner for JustGiving too...

5% isnt to be sniffed at.

Its a bit of a strange one, I know they are a business but it seems a bit wierd to me that they have made £20k off the tragedy? Perhaps not though.

The crowdfunding was started by the Met Police Federation to help the family of one of their own, a smart move to act quickly like this.

Nothing to stop others starting one for the civilian victims or for other Police officers injured or killed in the line of duty.
