So, I hear this prick was known to police-any further info? Why these people aren't monitored. It's time the agencies got more resources.
Where have you heard he was known to the police? Last time that was said was when several alt-right sites started the rumours on Twitter that he was Abu Izzadeen (who's currently serving time in one of Her Majesty's fine establishments). So, I hear this prick was known to police-any further info? Why these people aren't monitored. It's time the agencies got more resources.

And locking people up without due legal process (AKA "Internment") did nothing to quell dissent in Northern Ireland. It actually exacerbated matters.
The difference between the NI conflict and this one is that there was a political solution that both sides could accept to that. There is no such solution available with radical Islam. This is a conflict of decades or even centuries and the internment of the most dangerous will probably become part of the security measures to combat it.

No they didn't. It caused extreme bitterness in the communities affected and acted as a recruiting agent for new "terrorists".It didn't work, AT ALL, and probably prolonged the conflict there by at least a decade - with the comsurate additional loss of lives incurred over that period.

I thought it was inspired by Palestine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya etc. There is no such solution available with radical Islam. This is a conflict of decades or even centuries and the internment of the most dangerous will probably become part of the security measures to combat it.

So he managed to get out of his car.. approach an armed police officer.. and then stab him through his anti-stab vest thereby killing him ?!
how fast/strong was this guy?!
I'm not sure the officer killed was armed. how fast/strong was this guy?!
Anyone seen the 4chan links....interesting!
If not basically someone posted on Tuesday a pictures of two Guns and a coded message, someone replied asking Big Ben? But the coded message was actually co-ords to Westminster Bridge, specifically the Parliament side! Crazy!!!
I guess the Police can't really do too much with this info apart from monitor it??

I don't find that getting out of cars and approaching people requires particularly athletic qualities.

This has taken so long, last night at the end of Newsnight it was mentioned the vehicle used was hired on the 21st in Birmingham, needless to say there must be an instant paper trail.SystemParanoia said:
But the anti stab vest is still standard PPE uniform isnt it ?
Concentrate on the word Vest. Now consider what parts of a person that might leave exposed, where a knife could cut a major blood vessel. If you've planned your attack you're not going to stab a policeman in the stab vest are you.FiF said:

Is this Abu character confirmed actually IN prison?
Thought somebody said earlier he got 2 years last January. Would that not mean he would be released on licence from Jan 17?
Still in prison according to his brother and C4 News have admitted their error.Thought somebody said earlier he got 2 years last January. Would that not mean he would be released on licence from Jan 17?

Unfortunate that the press go the the Nth degree in the coverage of these events. It contributes to the worth of the actions.
If we allow ourselves to become restricted and afraid, we lose.
I have to say that's basically my opinion as well. The value to these attacks is that the press go into a frothing craze and devote all their time to covering it, and whipping it up into a big event. If we allow ourselves to become restricted and afraid, we lose.
All it needs is a mention, 30 second piece, carry on as usual, release police statements as they come out. As bland as possible, while keeping people informed.

In prison for "an unrelated matter". He's in prison for leaving the country without permission on his way to become a terrorist!http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/abu...
