Reuters have released a picture of what appears to be a blonde lady giving mouth to mouth to a man with his shoes off, on the bridge.
Yeah Reuters have some very clear pictures of the casualties/incident...not nice at all!!
It was on my Instagram feed - somewhat suprised.
in an incident like this, who are the people thinking it's appropriate to get the phone out and start snapping pics???

Channel hopping, RT do seem to be a good few minutes ahead of BBC/SKY etc, the nature of breaking news notwithstanding.

If it is a terror incident how do you stop this new tactic? No guns or explosives required just a vehicle. Scary.
You can't to be frank.

A large heavy vehicle has proved to be an effective weapon when used on crowds in both Nice and Berlin. Very hard to create a situation where groups of people will not be in close proximity to roads where vehicles will be present.

Speed and scale of the security and emergency services response is impressive, even allowing for the location.

They probably don't feel quite so bound by journalistic ethics and practices, and SKY/BBC etc take a bit of time to check facts/sources etc.

The only thing you can do is bollards to protect buildings, but they have had those for years.
You cannot protect people.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to start being suspicious of people who like cars, who participate in internet forums for discussion about cars, or who meet in person with fellow car fans, with their cars? You never know what they could be planning.

Security at the gates is useless , especially on a Wednesday as the gates are wide open and they have a small/light crowd barrier manned by 2 unarmed Plod to let a stream of cars in and out.

The Reuters ones are by Toby Melville, their pro photographer. Not nice to see I agree however I'm glad things are documented in such a way. Those iconic images of 7/7 survivors with their skin peeling off, the injured Indian flight attendant who was sitting in Brussels airport etc. All tell a story that words cannot.

My wife and I were there on Saturday (down from Edinburgh) - we walked from County Hall across Westminster bridge to the underground, and at the time we both mentioned that a terrorist attack would wreak havoc. Sad news.

Agreed. Should have a quick and well staffed response from st Thomas on the other side of the bridge. Lots of armed officers on scene in very quick time - uniformed and the guys with the grey combat gear.

Anyone seen the picture of the armed copper running in grey with the helmet?

Different uniform to other armed police - special part of the Met or even MI5? Couldn't see POLICE on his uniform, in the picture at least.

Some pretty horrific photos on Reuters.

One particular photo looks like some one has been thrown over the bridge parapet to the lower level.
Doesn't look good at all.
