For those that were/are struggling with the concept of gender fluidity; take a step further(?)

Dolezal and her defenders contend her racial identity is genuine while not based on biology or ancestry. In a November 2015 television interview, Dolezal publicly stated for the first time since the controversy began that she was born white but still identifies herself as black
It appears that hope is at hand for those of us currently identifying as white male, and feeling they had no chance of even entering the Victim Olympics, (alternatively known as the Oppression Olympics).

I can't see the problem. If you want to call yourself black, why not? It is not as if it doesn't happen all the time in any case.

If we all trace our ancestry back a number of generations, we'll all find black ancestors; out of Africa and all that.

It doesn't matter.

I had an uncle, who married into my half Irish family. He reckoned he was Scottish 'cause he was born in Berwick - he came to London as a boy/babe/toddler. He thought Berwick was in Scotland and nothing anyone said could convince him otherwise. Who cared? His workmates called him Paddy - the only one in my family who was - and everyone was happy.

It doesn't matter nowadays. It's not as if blacks, dogs and Irish have to sit at the back of busses. If she, or anyone else come to that, wants to call themselves any colour, then why should anyone be miffed?

Agree with you Derek, but I think you need to look at her activism etc...

Makes a mockery of anything sensible.

I agree it doesn't matter. But she has an agenda.
She harps on and on about how she is struggling now to make ends meet?
How sad.

I thought that there has be more to this than being hard up and the racial gender side...

Bingo! She has got further than you Derek... she's found a publisher!
The poor soul has written a book about her life of ordeal entitled 'In Full Colour'.
Can't be a famous publisher surely? Nope. Never heard of 'em.
Published in US but unsurprisingly it will also be available here next week - how much? 20 quid!

Still, the question is, is it any good?

Some advance reviews:
I especially like thesehehe

'A remarkably unfortunate piece of written work.
I don't believe in book burning, but if I did, this would be at the top of the list.'

'If you only read one book this year... don't waste your limited brain-power on this one!'

'She's got problems, but they all originate with her. Yet somehow it's everyone's fault but hers.
Save your money on this book. It will quickly be available in the 'Free Books' bin outside the Goodwill.'

For balance I did see a positive review:
One said she got so excited her pre-order had arrived early that she read it all in one day!

Poundland here she comes!

Good, before knowing that race was a social construct i'd see christian minorities un-genocided like they were goading me.

Oh! That's a nasty dig about the lack of publisher.

I've mentioned my friend before so sorry to those with a good memory:

I have an American friend who was a bit miffed to find that, despite being born just outside Detroit, she was not classed as a native American. Being a (published) writer she was aware of the definition of the phrase so when there was a meeting of 'native Americans' organised in her locality she decided to attend. She said she was the only 4'11" white blonde in the room and this called attention to her. She was adamant that she was native and this caused a bit of fuss. Police were called and, having made her point, she left.

She returned home only to be visited by their version of special branch on the day of a subsequent meeting and told she should not attend. She had no intention of doing so, right up until she was banned. She asked them under what law, they were unable to answer, and so she said arrest me and off she went, only to be turned away at the door.

She became something of a local celebrity - which helped her book sales no end - for some time, the local paper having the same feeling about abuse of the language. A number of copycats joined the movement, but they were a bit miffed when she claimed prior appointments.

She then moved to Seattle only to have another visit, this time from higher up officials, and told they (the FBI maybe) had a file on her and she should not go to a meeting of native Americans that was in her vicinity. More book sales were the result of a report to the local paper.

She took to calling herself a native American and so did a number of others.

She was, she said, happy to be a native American of Russian descent.

A small point: the publisher of most of my books is Kindle. It is still a publisher, despite it being e-books. Small, but an important point.

An interesting point; 'native' north Americans are the ancestors descendants of people who travelled from/through Siberia across the ice bridge between Siberia and Alaska.
All there are 'immigrants' of one sort or another, but only one 'group' is allowed to claim indigenous status, in spite those same indigenous people claiming massive grants to visit Japan and Russia to meet their genetic brothers and sisters.

No one sees the irony embedded in this, ever.

Descendants, not ancestors. I know, I know, it's only language.

Thank you.
Language is important.
I did a triple take as I wrote it yet my brain failed anyway.
