Dump car on someone’s driveway.
In that situation, what sort of person's first thought is "he's parked over our manhole cover, that could be quite dangerous!?!?!" hehe

Do they actually believe there's a man in their manhole? confused

???
Shouldn't that be:
Lesson 1 - NEVER EVER give your car AND keys to a complete stranger.

Especially one who has multiple directorships of previous dodgy companies and is also 'director of a Basmati rice company'.
If you know what I mean.....

They are not all bad.

We've use cophall parking at Gatwick many times. They have a proper drop off point which his next to their hardstanding car park. their shuttle buses are regular and available 24hrs a day.

When you arrive back they've moved your car back to the drop off point so that it's ready for you to load up and drive away.

I always use long stay car parks whenever I fly, which is fairly frequently. It's not particularly expensive, especially if you book a good while in advance, which I often cannot do.

The one at Gatwick unfortunately requires a short bus ride (I prefer Manchester where I can walk) but it's only 5 minutes or so.

The difference in cost is not worth the risk in my view.
Absolutely yes

Why anyone would trust a stranger with the keys to their car is beyond me.
I've always used the Ordinary long stay at Gatwick when required.

I don't think I have ever waited longer than 5mins for a shuttle bus either.

Benefits are that you get to choose a space you like, and there's always been a empty end of row or walkway one so far.

Are you thick? Of course there's a man in their manhole. Otherwise it would just be called a hole.

I wouldn't use one of these airport parking firms but I do use valet parking at hotels. Never had a problem.

I know what he means.

Of course, you may think him a racist, but then at least he'd still have his car when he got back from Torremolenos!

I'm just wondering whether he'd have the courage to come back and spell it out. Then we'd all know what he is.

I can put up with political debate, and I think I am big enough to accept that other people may have very different views from my own no matter how much I disagree with them. But casual, uncalled for, gratuitous racism is unacceptable. It brings nothing to this discussion.

Many people contributing to this thread may well be of an ethnicity to be offended, or could well be married to someone who could be. He doesn't know, so best to keep ignorant prejudice out of it.

I wasn't being racist at all. What I meant was he is someone with a history of shady companies - and perhaps a get rich quick attitude in that he is involved in other completely unrelated businesses - the rice. Not exactly the kind of person I'd want to entrust my pride and joy to.

Interesting to see though that your first thought was 'racism!'
Bit of a chip on your shoulder have you?

Ahh Pistonheads..

Where getting Some form of gratification by stirring up racial tension where none actually existed previously is some peoples only achievable goal in life.

The rest of us simply go outside and get a girlfriend and/or get married.

You mean, "correct"?

Whatever his opinion, if others had shared them, they'd not have been leaving their cars with charlatains who did not secure them, rented them out, drove them for their own purposes and when it went pop, left hem in unknown places and did one.

Someone dumped a car in my wife's work carpark a few years back. Police wouldn't assist as it was private property. Once I'd towed it onto the 40 mph dual carriageway next to the carpark entrance they were much more helpful.

Recognising behavioural patterns in different cultures is not racist.
